Narrowing the scope of your business groups

Observer can monitor numerous probe instances, but you may not need data from all of them.

You can choose to filter what data appears on a report by using a business group and limiting that business group to just the stations or probe instances that interest you. You can do this in more than one way:

Filtering by MAC or IP address

Filtering by devices

Figure 1 shows a business group where the data source is filtered to just a few stations and routers. So, regardless of how much trending data Observer captures, ORS is only interested in data from these selected sources.
