Business Groups How to create business groups Observer Reporting Server is flexible enough to allow you to create a business group for any reason. Because newly created business groups contain no reports, you must add them (either new or copied). 1. Choose Organization Group > Business Groups tab. 2. Click New. The Edit Business Group window appears. 3. Use information from Table 1 to create your business group. Table 3. Business Group tab options Name Description Name The name of your business group. This name that appears in the web page. It should be something generic, but descriptive. Description A summary of the business group. The description does not appear anywhere other than on this screen. Disable trending for this Business Group If you want to disable a business group without deleting it, select this option. It does not remove the business group from the web page, however, no updated data will be captured from Observer for this group. You need to clear the following two options if you want to remove them from the web page. Show in web browser report ORS Business Groups list Displays the group in the list on the Business Group tab of the web page. Show in web browser report NetLive Business Groups list Displays the group in the list on the NetLive tab of the web page. Enable Business Group application filter Limits which applications are tracked for this business group. By default there are no limits and all applications are monitored by the data source and displayed in the report. Configure Business Group Thresholds Configure thresholds for the current business group. These threshold values are independent of the default thresholds.
