  71. 2.1 INSTALLATION
  72.    
  73.      If you have received the programs via a modem or a Shareware
  74. distributor you have received one archived file called QUIZ.EXE.
  75. As per instructions in the README file you should have already
  76. made a directory on you hard disk called QM50, copied the
  77. QUIZ.EXE file to the new directory and typed QUIZ at the C:\QM50
  78. prompt. All the files will be unarchived automatically. To make
  79. sure you have the most current version of the software, be sure
  80. to register with Hallandales. See Appendix B, "Registering Quiz
  81. Master."

  83.      If you have received Quiz Master on 5 1/4" 360K disk, all
  84. the programs will be on a single disk, but the files will be
  85. archived to single file called QUIZ.EXE. This file is self
  86. extracting. All that needs to be done is Type: QUIZ and all the
  87. programs will be extracted. The install program automatically
  88. extracts all the Quiz Master programs from the archived file.
  89.  
  90.      If you have received Quiz Master on 3 1/2" 720K disks all
  91. the programs are intact and they only need to be copied to the
  92. Hard Disk for installation. The installation program does
  93. everything automatically for you.

  95. 2.1.1  HARD DISK SYSTEMS
  96.  
  97.      Place the QUIZ MASTER Program Disk in the floppy disk drive,
  98. and log to the drive as follows:
  99.  
  100.      Type A: to change to the drive. (If you have inserted the
  101. disk in the B: drive then type B:.)
  102.  
  103.      Now that you are logged to the drive the disk is in, Type:
  104. INSTALL, complete instructions will appear on screen, allowing
  105. you to install Quiz Master on any hard disk drive you wish.
  106.  
  107.      The install program will proceed to create a directory
  108. called \QM50 and copy the program files to that directory. When
  109. the installation is complete, your screen will return to the C:>
  110. prompt in the new directry, \QM50. Remove the program disk and
  111. store it in a safe, dry place.
  112.  
  113.      If you have purchased a prepared Question Bank with your
  114. QUIZ MASTER program now is the time to install it. Log to the
  115. floppy drive containing the Question Bank disk and Type: INSTALL.

  135. 2.1.2  DOUBLE FLOPPY DRIVE SYSTEMS

  137. (Quiz Master will only work on High Density floppy drive systems)

  139.      Format one bootable floppy disk for the Quiz Master
  140. programs. (refer to your MSDOS manual for instructions). Make a
  141. working copy of the QUIZ MASTER Program Disk by placing the
  142. Program Disk in the A: Drive and the blank bootable floppy disk
  143. in the B: drive.  At the root A> prompt, type:  COPY A:*.* B:  
  144. and press:  <ENTER>
  145.  
  146.      When the copy is complete, remove both disks.  Store the
  147. original Program Disk in a safe, dry place.  Label the copy,
  148. "Working QUIZ MASTER Disk".
  149.  
  150.      NOTE: If you have purchased a prepared Question Bank with
  151. your QUIZ MASTER program, label and format non-bootable floppy
  152. disks to use as your Question Bank data disks, and make copies
  153. using the same method above. Quiz Master 5.0 can now combine
  154. questions from up to 10 different question banks, so copy as many
  155. question banks on to a single question bank disk that will fit.
  156. Place the master question bank disks in a safe, dry place.

  159. 2.2  PREPARING QUIZ MASTER
  160.  
  161. Follow these steps to prepare Quiz Master to print exams.
  162.  
  163.   1. Select or Install your printer, see Chapter 4.
  164.  
  165.   2. Set-up the Page Layout, and test it, see Chapter 5
  166.  
  167.   3. From this point you can do 1 of 2 things;
  168.  
  169.      1. Go right into creating/editing your own question bank by
  170.      following  instructions in chapter 11 - 13.
  171.  
  172.      2. Try printing an exam with Quiz Master using the sample
  173.      question bank included with the program (SAMPLE50.DAT).
  174.      Follow instructions in chapter 6-9.
