  7. "The Mask: The Origin" introduces a new genre in the software world the
  8. multimedia comic book.  We have all heard about edutainment, multimedia 
  9. encyclopedias and other educative titles, but we never really had a chance
  10. to read a comic strip on the screen.  Hopefully, this is going to change!
  11.  
  12. "The Mask: The Origin" is the first title of a series based on the character 
  13. created by Mike Richardson.  It mixes sound, animation and original art in
  14. a way to deliver a new experience that has never been seen before.  Cyber
  15. Comics jointly with Metrolight Studios created a new genre that will surely
  16. have great success in the future.

  18. Although comics are great, they are sometimes missing what we like the most
  19. in multimedia titles:  sound and animation.  The multimedia comic book
  20. presents a possible future for comics.  We should also keep in mind that
  21. most people would perhaps prefer the original comic book because of the way
  22. the art is laid out in a small book which a computer cannot deliver.
  23. Anyhow, this new genre certainly promises to be a great success because of
  24. what we said above, and we will be anxious to see the other titles.

  26. Now, let us take a closer look at "The Mask: The Origin". The program, like
  27. many others, runs under Windows, and we cannot change much about that,
  28. it is like a fashion.  Graphics are made directly from the original art of
  29. the series, and they are really great.  The whole title is a compilation of
  30. the first five Mask comic books and features Quicktime animations and over
  31. 450 richly illustrated pages!  You will hear over two hours of dialogues,
  32. music and sounds, and believe me, you have never experienced a comic like
  33. this one before!

  35. Divided into five chapters, you can jump directly to a specific page of the
  36. book in a nonlinear way or instead, follow the story line which is usually
  37. what you do when reading a book!

  43. "The Mask: The Origin" is definitively something you have to try because it
  44. is totally new and it might change the way you look at your old comics!

  46. The only thing that could be improved in this software is the access time
  47. and sound breaks when switching between pages.
