Your "new" mailer package (started with issue #19?) which is the full page sized folder was a terrible decision. Surely you must be receiving a LOT of hate mail on this one, as there are a LOT of people out here in the real world who are unfortunate enough to receive their mail in mailboxes that are not large enough for something of this nature. In my case, my first issue with the new mailer arrived at my doorstep...an extreme rarity in my condo complex. I just received #20, which was half folded, stuffed tightly into my mailbox (one of those apartment types, 20+ in a row, key to open, etc.).
Surprisingly, this time, the CD-ROM came out unbent.
However, I'm not interested in tempting fate like this monthly. If I do not see my CD-ROM magazine arriving in sensible package within a couple of issues (that is, say, #22), I'll be canceling my subscription solely because of this. I'll probably still occasionally buy issues of your CD-ROM magazine in the store, where this packaging certainly makes sense (they don't have mail carrier mentality when they fill their magazine racks!). However, with your competition, and my sometimes forgetful nature regarding regular preview of latest releases on the racks, you will be losing sales because of this odd decision.
So, again, I urge you to drop the mailer, and go back to the previous one, at the least, for us subscribers, else you'll be getting back a lot of u-shaped CD-ROM rejects or calls about the same.
Signed,
Kevin Womack, (who, through no fault of his own, lives in a place where he cannot receive 8x11 folders with CD-ROMs in them, without the risk of them being folded <sniff>.)
PS: No, I'm not moving to a real house anytime soon, so that solution is out.
