While hiking along a |1| |2| in |3| last month, I discovered a |4| cave. I |5| my |6| inside to take a look and was immediately assailed by a |7|, |8| odor. The smell made my |9| |10|. Because the cave was dark, it was at least |11| degrees colder, but I continued my journey anyway.
As I |12| along, I began to hear a noise, as if a |13| was |14| from a |15|. As I continued downward, the noise became louder. By now my |16| had become accustomed to the darkness. When I almost didn't see a |17| |18| scurry across the cave floor, I knew it was time to get out my flashlight. I took the light out of the bag and turned it on. The dim light filled the cave, which had become |19| as I travelled deeper into the earth. I touched the brim of my |20|; it was damp; like the cave's interior. The noise I heard earlier had become louder and now I was also hearing a different noise, like |21| |22|. My breathing |23| as I became more nervous. I noticed my |24| was |25|. Then, the flashlight went out. The cave was now pitch dark. Scared, I dropped my flashlight and |26| around the cave. I |27| my |28| on a sharp rock but then found the flashlight on the ground. I picked it up. |29|. Still, no light. I |30| the flashlight against my hand and suddenly, the cave was illuminated, though now I had no desire to see what was lit. There were |31| everywhere. Thousands of |32|, |33| |31|.
For a moment, the animals were |34| and then all of a sudden they all came |35| towards me, towards the light. I turned out the light, ducked my head and |36|. I |36| for what seemed like miles until I finally made my way back out into the |37|, |37| sunshine. Now I am happy to simply |38| on the beach and |39| a |40| on a |41|.
