Read me file: Transact Ver 5.7d
TO RUN TRANSACT type GO then press <Enter>.
This newest version has implemented a telephone dialout procedure.
Simply do a LOOK-UP of a customer record and press the TAB key.
The telephone number for that customer will be dialed automatically.
But... You must have your modem on the COM1 port.
Also, this means that if you will use the mouse, which is highly
recommended, it must be on COM2 so that it does not conflict with the
modem. Later versions will allow the user to choose which ports they
prefer. If you must use the mouse on COM1, do not try to dial-out or
the program will most certainly crash. Also, be sure that the modem is turned
on.
Undocumented Command: Do a Look-up of a customer record. When the record is
displayed, press P or <Shift> P to print a customer claim check.
When using a mouse, you may now Look-up a customer record, point
at an invoice summary (on the top right-hand side of the screen), click on it
for instant viewing or editing of that particular invoice.
The default sales tax rate field of the customer data-base is 0.00%.
This can be changed on a record by record basis by typing in the appropriate
tax rate (expressed as a decimal) on the last row (field) when entering
customer record data. To change this field GLOBALLY (affects ALL customers),
change the 'default sales tax rate' in the Utility menu. The default tax rate
can be changed to the current sales tax rate in your area. Note that the
sales tax on an invoice is calculated using whatever rate was entered in the
data-base.
Even though a default tax rate may be set, entering a different value
individually on a customer record will overwrite the default value for that
particular record.
You may still have tax exempt items on an invoice by pressing the F9 key
instead of <Enter> when entering invoice items.
ElectroCure: This new undocumented feature is now available.
Selecting Electroure from the utility menu will provide access
to an ISAM based data-base dedicated to be used by service
businesses to document symptoms and cures for various customer
equipment such as TV's, Autos, Computers. Sales businesses may
want to use this special data-base for a record of maintainance
of company owned items.
To print the latest documentation, load printer with 50 pages of paper.
Insert TransAct distribution disk in drive a or b. Type a:\<Enter>. Then type
PRINT. Then press <Enter>. The documentation will then be printed to lpt1.
