  5. Thank you for your interest in the 1994 College Hoops Pick-Em Pool
  6. Extravaganza! (Version 1.2).

  8. As avid college basketball fans who have used this program ourselves,
  9. we're confident you're going to love this package.  It makes setting
  10. up and running your college hoops tournament pool at the office or
  11. with friends a breeze, and makes participating in the pool tons more 
  12. fun than you ever had before!

  14. The College Hoops Pick-Em Pool Extravaganza! has something for 
  15. everyone.  Pool administrators will love how painless it is to 
  16. enter player picks, and how easy it is to enter official results, 
  17. keep score, and generate printed reports.  Other pool players will 
  18. love how easy it is to generate standings, and play around with 
  19. pool stats, what-if scenarios, competitive analyses, and much more. 
  20. It all happens instantly -- just with the click of a mouse!

  24. The program essentially applies to the kind of pool where people
  25. pick the winner of ALL games before the tournament begins, and 
  26. the one with the most correct picks at the end of the tournament 
  27. wins.  Given this basic scheme, you can also use the program to:
  28.   - weight the value of correct picks in each round of the tournament
  29.     to customize scoring of your pool.
  30.   - start your pool with any round of the tournament -- for example,
  31.     run a pool just for the last "Sweet 16" or "Final Four".
  32.   - run a pool for any tournament that uses the single-elimination,
  33.     "brackets" format.
  34.   - run more than one pool at the same time.

  38. System requirements, program setup, and a description of all program
  39. documentation are included in the readable text file SYSTEM.HLP 
  40. that came with this package.  With the aid of this file, it really
  41. should take no more than five minutes to have the software up and 
  42. running in Windows 3.1.
