SOCIAL INSURANCE (Canada)
The Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN) consists of nine (9)
alphabetic characters, arranged in three groups of three (3-3-3).
The Canadian counterpart of the U.S. Social Security Number, the
Canadian SIN has also become widely used as a personal identifier,
tracking of which is mandatory for employers. Insuring accurate
paperwork can save much costly time, and potential fines by the
authorities.
