  3.   LICENSE NUMBER FORMAT:
  4.   The  State   of  Pennsylvania  issues   an  eight  (8)   character,
  5.   sequentially generated license number  delimited with dashes in the
  6.   format  2-3-3.  The  license  number  bears  no  correlation to the
  7.   driver's personal identifiers.

  10.   DOCUMENT:
  11.   The  plastic laminated,  photographic license  manufactured by NBS,
  12.   Imaging Systems Division, displays the driver's photograph down the
  13.   left  side of  the document.  The camera  number should overlap the
  14.   right  side of  the photograph.  The license  displays a reflective
  15.   security  strip that  overlaps  both  photograph and  textual areas
  16.   within the laminate.

  19.   TERM:
  20.   License is valid for four (4) years for drivers under 65 years old,
  21.   expiring at  the end of the  driver's birth month. Drivers  over 65
  22.   are issued a two (2) year license, with a four (4) year option.

  25.   MINORS:
  26.   Minor license  is indicated by  a red irregularly  shaped box below
  27.   the photograph containing the text "UNDER 21".

  31.   Commercial drivers  license is indicated by  a notation immediately
  32.   beneath the headbar.
