  4.   The Province of Nova Scotia  issues a fourteen (14) character alpha
  5.   numeric    license  number   without  delimiters   or  punctuation:
  6.   (Annnnnnnnnnnnnn)  Nova Scotia  uses a  very simple  coding system:

  8.   First five letters of Last Name       -  first five (5) characters
  9.   Date of birth                         -  next six (6) characters
  10.                                            (yy/mm/dd)
  11.   Control digits                        -  last three (3) characters

  14.   DOCUMENT:
  15.   The  unlaminated  paper  license is  not  photographic.   It should
  16.   appear on  a greenish banknote  paper stock, with  green data boxes
  17.   and an engraved heading.

  20.   TERM:
  21.   Licenses are valid for three (3) years, expiring on the last day of
  22.   the driver's birth month.

  25.   MINORS:
  26.   Licenses issued  to minors bear  no special  notation.  Examine the
  27.   date of birth on the document.
