  3.     EFF AWARDED DVORAK/ZOOM AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS
  4.              AT ONE BBSCON IN DENVER
  5.  
  6.   On August 13, the Electronic Frontier Foundation was the recipient
  7.   of one of twelve Dvorak/Zoom Telecommunications Awards. The
  8.   Dvorak/Zoom awards are to be given annually in order to recognize
  9.   individuals and organizations that have made a difference to
  10.   telecommunications and the BBS conferencing industry.
  11.  
  12.   The awards were given for the first time at a presentation ceremony
  13.   during One BBSCON in Denver. The EFF was cited for "helping to keep
  14.   telecommunications safe from the potential perils of out-of-control
  15.   legal departments and over zealous law enforcement agencies."  The
  16.   award also noted that the EFF has become "an extremely important
  17.   advocacy group for online telecommunications users."

  28.       Tom Smith for Procomm for Windows
  29.       Marshall Dudley for Doorway
  30.       The Rockwell Design Team for First Single Package
