  10. ARTISOFT NOW SHIPPING CENTRAL STATION(TM) II CONNECTIVITY PROCESSOR

  12.      (TUCSON, AZ  September 27, 1993)  Artisoft, Inc. announced
  13. today  that it has begun shipping its Central Station II
  14. connectivity  processor. This enhanced version of Artisoft's
  15. original Central Station  processor provides connectivity options
  16. for the following: five ports   two parallel and three serial  for
  17. up to five printers at one time,  connections for up to two modems
  18. at one time, as well as laptop to  Ethernet connectivity
  19. capabilities for LANtastic(R) (version 5.0) or  NetWare(R)
  20. (versions 2.x, 3.11 or 4.0) network operating systems. The  Central
  21. Station II processor, priced at $595, includes pre-loaded  versions
  22. of the Printer Server and Dial-Up Connection StationWare(TM) 
  23. dedicated applications.
  24.      Those users who purchased the original Central Station
  25. connectivity  processor after August 1, 1993 can exchange it for
  26. hte new Central  Station II processor. Because the Central Station
  27. II processor requires  version 5.0 of the LANtastic Local Area
  28. Network, Artisoft will be  offering a special half-price upgrade
  29. offer (DOS - $25; DOS/Windows -  $50) with the purchase of the
  30. Central Station II processor to those  users who have version 4.1
  31. or lower of the LANtastic network. For a  limited time, Artisoft is
  32. also offering existing Central Station users a  special half-price
  33. offer ($49 per network) to upgrade to StationWare  v3.0 software,
  34. regularly priced at $99 per network. Existing Central  Station
  35. users wishing to use five printers simultaneously must purchase 
  36. the Central Station II connectivity processor in order to use the
  37. PC  interface and auxiliary ports as printer connections. Artisoft
  38. has  lowered the price of the original Central Station connectivity
  39. processor  to $495.
