  14.        1        cup   Sugar                                             
  15.        1        cup   Flour                                             
  16.        1        cup   Dates                                             
  17.        1        cup   Nuts                                              
  18.        1/4      tsp   Baking soda                                       
  19.        1/4      tsp   Salt

  21.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  23.     Beat eggs until light. Add sugar. Sift flour, salt and soda. Beat into
  24.     first mixture. Add dates and chopped nuts. Mix well and spread thin on
  25.     well oiled pan. Bake 12 minutes in hot oven. Cut in long, narrow bars.
  26.     Roll in powdered sugar.
