  14.        1        cup   Sugar                                             
  15.        1        ea    Egg                                               
  16.        1/2      cup   Nut meats                                         
  17.        2        cup   Flour                                             
  18.        1/2      tsp   Salt                                              
  19.        1        tsp   Baking soda                                       
  20.        1        cup   Dates                                             
  21.        1        cup   Water - boiling

  23.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  25.     Dissolve soda in boing water. Pour over cup of diced dates. Add butter
  26.     and sugar, creamed. Add some flour, eggs beaten, then salt and balance
  27.      of flour with nuts. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 375 F.
