TITLE: "License error: No license directory found" Appears When Loading
PRODUCT: Ami Pro 2.0
DATE: 15-Oct-1991
PROBLEM:
The message "License error: No license directory found" appears when
attempting to load Ami Pro.
SOLUTION:
The above error indicates that the file AMIPRO.020 is missing from the Ami Pro
program directory. This file must be present unless licenses for multiple
network users have been purchased and implemented.
Since the program just looks for the presence of the file (if present, the
program is being used in a standalone mode, if not present the program is
being used on a network with purchased network licenses), the file can be
recreated by using the DOS COPY CON command:
1. Exit Ami Pro.
2. Run the DOS prompt icon at the Windows Program Manager.
3. At the DOS prompt access the drive where the Ami Pro program files are
located by typing the drive letter followed by a colon (:). For example,
if Ami Pro is located on drive C, type at the DOS prompt:
C: and press ENTER.
4. Change to the directory where the Ami Pro program files are located by
typing at a DOS prompt:
CD \DIRNAME and press ENTER.
\DIRNAME should be the path to the Ami Pro program directory (this is
usually \AMIPRO).
5. At a DOS prompt type:
COPY CON AMIPRO.020 and press ENTER.
6. The insertion point is located at the left side of the screen but there
will not be a DOS prompt. Touch SPACEBAR, touch the F6 function key, then
press ENTER. The prompt "1 file(s) copied" will appear.
7. Type EXIT and press ENTER to return to the Windows Program Manager.
8. Load Ami Pro.
