  1. TITLE:   Frame Contents Do Not Display in a Style Sheet

  5. PROBLEM:

  7. The message "Cannot create temporary file for frame.  Frame contents will not 
  8. be displayed" appears when a specific style sheet file is used in a File / New 
  9. operation.
  10.  
  11. SOLUTION: 
  12.  
  13. If Style Management was used to move a modified style from a document to a 
  14. style sheet or to change the function key assignments in a style sheet, or if 
  15. the CHGFONT.SMM macro was used to modify a style sheet, graphics files in the 
  16. style sheet will no longer display if the graphics files were imported with 
  17. the Copy Image option selected.  The error message "Cannot create temporary 
  18. file for frame.  Frame contents will not be displayed" displays when the style 
  19. sheet is used.  This error is an indication that the program cannot locate a 
  20. graphic image.  The error will occur when using such a style sheet for a new 
  21. file or when an existing document which refers to such a style sheet is 
  22. opened.

  24. Utilities are available from Lotus Development Corporation which will correct 
  25. the modified style sheets so that the graphics will display when the style 
  26. sheets are used.  Any changes made with the CHGFONT.SMM macro or Style 
  27. Management will be retained.  One utility program can be used to correct 
  28. individual style sheet files; the other utility program can be used to correct 
  29. all style sheet files in a particular directory.  The following describes 
  30. these utilities:

  32. REPAIR.EXE
  33.  
  34. Use this program to correct individual style sheets. Follow these instructions 
  35. to use REPAIR.EXE:
  36.  
  37.  1. Access the drive and directory where the file REPAIR.EXE is located:
  38.     a. Type at the DOS prompt the letter of the drive followed by a colon (:). 
  39.        For example, if the files are located on a floppy disk in drive A, type 
  40.        at the DOS prompt:
  41.        A: and press ENTER.
  42.     b. If the file is in a directory, type at the DOS prompt:
  43.        CD \DIRNAME and press ENTER.  \DIRNAME should be the correct path to 
  44.        the directory.
  45.  2. At the DOS prompt type REPAIR X:\PATHNAME\STYLENAME and press ENTER.  
  46.     X:\PATHNAME should be the path to the styles directory (which is usually 
  47.     C:\AMIPRO\STYLES) and STYLENAME should be the name of the style sheet 
  48.     which needs to be corrected.  For example, if the ~INVOICE.STY style sheet 
  49.     needs to be corrected and the styles directory is C:\AMIPRO\STYLES, type 
  50.     at the DOS prompt:
  51.     REPAIR C:\AMIPRO\STYLES\~INVOICE.STY and press ENTER.

  53. FIXALL.BAT
  54.  
  55. Use this batch file to correct all of the style sheets in a specific 
  56. directory.  Follow these directions to use FIXALL.BAT:
  57.  
  58.  1. Access the drive and directory where the files FIXALL.BAT and REPAIR.EXE 
  59.     are located:  Note: Both files must be in the same directory.
  60.     a. Type at the DOS prompt the letter of the drive followed by a colon (:). 
  61.        For example, if the files are located on a floppy disk in drive A, type 
  62.        at the DOS prompt:
  63.        A: and press ENTER.
  64.     b. If these files are in a directory, type at the DOS prompt:
  65.        CD \DIRNAME and press ENTER.  \DIRNAME should be the correct path to 
  66.        the directory.
  67.  2. At the DOS prompt type:
  68.     FIXALL X:\PATHNAME and press ENTER.  X:\PATHNAME should be the path to the 
  69.     directory containing the Ami Pro styles that need to be corrected (this is 
  70.     usually C:\AMIPRO\STYLES).

  72. FIXALL.BAT will scan every file with an extension of .STY in the specified 
  73. directory and make the necessary correction to all of the style sheet files 
  74. which have been modified with Style Management or with the CHGFONT.SMM macro.

  76. These utilities are available electronically from the Lotus Word Processing 
  77. division's bulletin board at 404-851-1371 and from the LotusWP forum, library 
  78. 2, on CompuServe.  Download the file FIXSTY.ZIP from both locations.  The 
  79. utilities can be obtained on disk by contacting the Lotus Word Processing 
  80. Division's Customer Service department at 404-256-2272.  Ask for the style 
  81. sheet correction utilities.
