<p>
To install the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2, follow these steps:
<p>
1. Double-click on <B>The</B> <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> icon on the Desktop to open
its contents.
<p>
2. Double-click on <B>The</B> <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> <B>for</B> <B>OS/2</B> icon to open its
contents.
<p>
3. Double-click on <B>The</B> <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> <B>Catalog</B> icon to show the
Catalog Main View as shown in <a href="#FIG4610I76">Figure 100</a>.

4. Double-click on the <B>IBM</B> <B>OS/2</B> <B>(Discs</B> <B>1/4)</B> category to expand it (you
may need to scroll down the list to find it).
<p>
In this screen you will notice the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2 product
object.
<p>
Before installing the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2, you should check to
see how much free space you have. This needs 10 MB of free space.
<p>
5. Click with mouse button two on the <B>OpenDoc</B> <B>Multimedia</B> <B>for</B> <B>OS/2</B> <B>(IBM)</B>
line to obtain the pop-up menu.
<p>
6. Select <B>Install</B> <B>product</B> from the pop-up menu. You will see the window
shown in <a href="#FIG4610I13">Figure 101</a>.

7. Select <B>OK</B> to proceed with the OpenDoc Multimedia installation. You
will get the following screen:

8. You need to select <B>OpenDoc</B> <B>for</B> <B>MMPM/2</B> and other features that you want
to install according to the hardware existing on your system. (You
can scroll down the Features list to see the available options.)

| You must reselect all features that were previously installed on |
| the system to update them to the latest level. For instance, if |
| you have Software Motion Video and CD Audio installed on your |
| system, you must select them both from the list shown on<a href="#FIG4610I14"> |</a>
| <a href="#FIG4610I14">Figure 102</a>, along with <B>Opendoc</B> <B>from</B> <B>MMPM/2</B>. |

You can also change the target drive where you want to install OpenDoc
Multimedia for OS/2. When you have finished with your selections,
choose <B>Install</B> to install them on your system.

9. You will get the MMPM/2 - Change CONFIG.SYS panel (shown in
<a href="#FIG4610I75">Figure 103</a>).

If you select <B>Yes</B>, the CONFIG.SYS will be automatically changed. If
you select <B>No</B>, a file \MMOS2\CONFIGCH.NEW will be created and you will
need to incorporate this modifications to CONFIG.SYS to be able to use
OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2.
<p>
10. If you selected additional features, you may get several more panels
that you should reply to. If you decided to change the CONFIG.SYS
automatically, the installation program will give you the notice panel
that it has done it so with the following panel (shown in <a href="#FIG4610I68">Figure 104</a>).
Select <B>OK</B> to clear this panel.

11. The final panel (shown in <a href="#FIG4610I67">Figure 105</a>) will inform you that the OpenDoc
Multimedia for OS/2 installation has ended successfully.

Select <B>OK</B> to clear this panel.
<p>
The installation will return to the The Developer Connection Catalog
Main view screen (<a href="#FIG4610I76">Figure 100</a>), with a message indicating that the MMOD
installation session ended. Select <B>OK</B> to clear this message.
<p>
<p>
After the installation has finished, you need to perform the following
steps to use the OpenDoc Multimedia functions:
<p>
1. Replace the CONFIG.SYS with CONFIGCH.NEW if you didn't change the
CONFIG.SYS automatically.

2. Reboot the system to make the new CONFIG.SYS take effect.

You will notice the Multimedia folder (shown in <a href="#FIG4610I74">Figure 106</a>) is now created
on the Desktop (or updated if you had multimedia previously installed on
your system). The number of objects on this folder will depend on the
options you selected during installation.
<p>
In the Multimedia folder you can see an icon for Multimedia Templates. If
you open the contents of this folder, you will see the screen shown in
<a href="#FIG4610I51">Figure 107</a>.
