To install the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2, follow these steps:
1. Double-click on The Developer Connection icon on the Desktop to open its contents.
2. Double-click on The Developer Connection for OS/2 icon to open its contents.
3. Double-click on The Developer Connection Catalog icon to show the Catalog Main View as shown in Figure 100.

In this screen you will notice the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2 product object.
Before installing the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2, you should check to see how much free space you have. This needs 10 MB of free space.
5. Click with mouse button two on the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2 (IBM) line to obtain the pop-up menu.
6. Select Install product from the pop-up menu. You will see the window shown in Figure 101.
Figure 101. OpenDoc Multimedia Installation Welcome7. Select OK to proceed with the OpenDoc Multimedia installation. You will get the following screen:
Figure 102. OpenDoc Multimedia Install Panel8. You need to select OpenDoc for MMPM/2 and other features that you want to install according to the hardware existing on your system. (You can scroll down the Features list to see the available options.)

You can also change the target drive where you want to install OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2. When you have finished with your selections, choose Install to install them on your system.
9. You will get the MMPM/2 - Change CONFIG.SYS panel (shown in Figure 103).
Figure 103. OpenDoc Multimedia Change CONFIG.SYSIf you select Yes, the CONFIG.SYS will be automatically changed. If you select No, a file \MMOS2\CONFIGCH.NEW will be created and you will need to incorporate this modifications to CONFIG.SYS to be able to use OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2.
10. If you selected additional features, you may get several more panels that you should reply to. If you decided to change the CONFIG.SYS automatically, the installation program will give you the notice panel that it has done it so with the following panel (shown in Figure 104). Select OK to clear this panel.
Figure 104. OpenDoc Multimedia CONFIG.SYS Changed11. The final panel (shown in Figure 105) will inform you that the OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2 installation has ended successfully.

The installation will return to the The Developer Connection Catalog Main view screen (Figure 100), with a message indicating that the MMOD installation session ended. Select OK to clear this message.
After the installation has finished, you need to perform the following steps to use the OpenDoc Multimedia functions:
1. Replace the CONFIG.SYS with CONFIGCH.NEW if you didn't change the CONFIG.SYS automatically.
2. Reboot the system to make the new CONFIG.SYS take effect.
Figure 106. OpenDoc Multimedia FolderYou will notice the Multimedia folder (shown in Figure 106) is now created on the Desktop (or updated if you had multimedia previously installed on your system). The number of objects on this folder will depend on the options you selected during installation.
In the Multimedia folder you can see an icon for Multimedia Templates. If you open the contents of this folder, you will see the screen shown in Figure 107.
