  6. Top Calibre Exhibitors Endorse Acorn World '93

  10. As the final countdown to Acorn World '93 gets underway, the number
  11. and variety of  exhibitors committed to the show continue to impress.
  12. Besides big names such as  Kodak, Psion and The Science Museum, TV
  13. companies and leading educational and  business software specialists
  14. have also taken stands.

  16. Anglia Television's Media Development Unit, for example, will be
  17. demonstrating a  variety of its CD ROMs. 'Understanding The Body'
  18. enables the user to learn how the  human body works via interactive
  19. lessons and worksheets which use scanned images,  video and
  20. animations. 'Nineteenth Century Biographies' contains information on
  21. famous  people from that century and 'Castles' provides information on
  22. castles in the UK. Users  can take part in a mock tour of the castle,
  23. learning about their construction and what it  was like to live there.

  25. In addition, Academy Television has elected to launch a new range of
  26. educational  software on CD ROMs at the show, produced in conjunction
  27. with Interactive Learning  Productions and Yorkshire Television. New
  28. titles include 'Science Series 1: The  Elements', an interactive
  29. multimedia system covering the periodic table and atomic  structure;
  30. and 'Environment Series 1: Water', which provides information on vital 
  31. environmental issues. Visitors to the stand will also have the
  32. opportunity to win a CD  ROM package of their choice in a daily
  33. competition.

  35. Clares Micro Supplies will be giving the first public demonstration of
  36. its two recently  launched software packages, ProArtisan 2 and
  37. Rhapsody 3, at Acorn World. ProArtisan  2 is an art and painting
  38. package designed specifically for the Acorn range of computers. 
  39. Rhapsody 3 enables musical scores to be created without the need for
  40. pen and paper.

  42. Other exhibitors at the show include Pen and Think, which provides
  43. educational  software to support the national curriculum; Rheingold
  44. Enterprises, which will be  demonstrating its Vigil multitasking
  45. program debugger for the first time; and Colton  Software. Colton will
  46. be showing its Wordz word processing software, Resultz  spreadsheet,
  47. and Fireworkz, which combines the functionality of Wordz and Resultz 
  48. into a powerful integrated solution for the home, business and
  49. education markets.

  51. With the theme 'Vision for the Future', Acorn World '93 is set to be
  52. the largest ever  showcase for Acorn products and services worldwide.
  53. Taking place at Wembley from  29 - 31 October 1993, the exhibition
  54. will have a futuristic theme and includes a series  of dedicated
  55. feature areas. These will offer a glimpse of technological innovation
  56. in  the education, publishing, professional services and home business
  57. sectors. A high  level theatre programme will accompany the
  58. exhibition, at which industry experts will  give their views on a
  59. range of business and technical, educational and leisure topics.
