- TOOLBAR

- The toolbar appears whenever select is clicked over the !Pennies
- icon on the icon bar or when the currency icon of an account display
- is clicked.
-
- This toolbar is the prime means of moving around the !Pennies
- application. Selecting any of the facilities will lead to another
- window being opened or a menu being displayed from which a choice can
- be made - this in turn will open another window. Each choice is
- outlined below. Further help is available within each window by
- clicking over it's own help icon.

- The selections are listed below as they appear on the toolbar
- starting from the left.

- SEE ACCOUNT
-
- Selection will open the 'Accounts' menu from which a single account
- can be selected for display. This account will then be loaded, updated
- and displayed for use. The major account types are: Cash, Invest,
- Insure, Pay and Spend. Invest, Insure and Pay have sub-types
- accessible from this menu. Additionally there are 5 other account
- types in a 'Fixed' category; Find - this displays the results of the
- extended FIND facility accessed from the normal accounts display,
- Indexlink - this displays the results of the INDEXLINK facility again
- accessed from the normal accounts display, Index: which leads to the
- sub-menu containing accounts of the Index type such as 'RPI' which use
- a different display, Budget which displays the existing Budget account
- and finally CalcAcct which is the optional account created by the
- Calculator function.

- Note that any menu entry with a ':' after it leads to a sub-menu.
- Sub-menus with 'New' in them allow new accounts to be created from
- here, they can also be created from the 'Transaction' window.

- Dragging an account file from a directory display to this icon will
- also open the account as an ARCHIVE account-this is how archive files
- are viewed. Files opened in this manner cannot be edited.

- TRANSACTION
-
- Selecting this will immediately open the TRANSACTION window which is
- used for all transactions apart from standing orders. New accounts
- can also be created from this window.

- STANDING ORDERS
-
- This opens a window displaying all current standing orders - allowing
- creation of new entries, editing and deletion of existing entries, and
- printing of all entries.

- GRAPHS
-
- Selection immediately opens the GRAPHDATA window which allows the user
- to choose the account to be plotted, the graph type and other details,
- which determine the type of graph display.

- BALANCES
-
- This selection leads to another menu of account subtypes, this
- facility allows the user to display a window containing summary
- details and balances of all accounts in the relevant sub-type.
- Selecting ALL will show all accounts balances and selecting UPDATE
- will update all accounts.

- SUM
-
- The SUM facility allows the user to add any number of accounts or
- groups of accounts to each other such that the balance of each account
- at fixed intervals (weekly, monthly) over the period is added to a
- 'Sum' account. Selecting Sum opens a window from which the accounts
- for summing are selected. The account created is displayed and
- also stored for future use. It can be displayed from the See
- Account menu and used in Graphs.

- PROJECT

- Selecting PROJECT opens a window which allows the user to select
- individual or collections of accounts for analysis and projection over
- various periods.

- OPTIONS
-
- This opens the OPTIONS window which enables the user to make choices
- concerning the basic running of the application.

- DELETE ACCOUNT
-
- This selection allows the user to delete whole accounts by displaying
- a DELETE ACCOUNT window. Note that accounts deleted by this facility
- are removed from the menu structure but are archived, as Squashed
- files, in a special directory (oldpennies) so they can be viewed or
- finally deleted by the user at will.

- EXPORT
-
- This facility allows you to transfer !Pennies accounts files to
- another application by creating new files in a variety of formats
- (Text, CSV, Pipedream).

- CALCULATOR
-
- The calculator function allows you to work out the interest on savings
- or loans. The results are provided in 2 forms, firstly a quick,
- calculated result and optionally an automatically generated full
- account on which the normal account Interest function can be used to
- perform more complex calculations.

- HELP
-
- Selection will open this text file for reading or printing in
- !Edit
