  1.                       DEMO VERSION LIMITATIONS
  2.                       ========================

  4. This version of !Pennies is a 'cut down' copy of the full application
  5. with a number of facilities deleted. 
  6.  
  7. ALL ACCOUNTS CREATED WITHIN THIS VERSION WILL WORK WITH THE FULL
  8. VERSION.
  9.  
  10. THE MISSING FACILITIES ARE:
  11.

  13.   1.All 'Print' facilities. Printouts through the RiscOS printer
  14.     drivers are normally available from a number of the facilities in
  15.     !Pennies, these present the data in a similar form to the screen
  16.     displays but in the CORPUS font in a size determined by the
  17.     user. Graphs are printed by re-drawing the graph through the
  18.     printer drivers with some added effects, not by copying the
  19.     sprite - this produces a neater graph printout.
  20.     
  21.   2.Account size. In the full version the number of entries on an
  22.     account is not limited by the application - memory is grabbed as
  23.     required to process accounts. In this version a limit of 100
  24.     entries is set. After this it will be necessary to archive part of
  25.     the account to continue.

  27.   3.Backup storage. Data can be automatically copied to a backup
  28.     directory located wherever you wish. This facility is disabled
  29.     in this version.   
  30.     
  31.   4.OPTIONS. The OPTIONS window is used to alter a number of
  32.     parameters but is disabled in this version - the window will be
  33.     displayed but no changes will be actioned, this prevents any
  34.     changes to:   
  35.       
  36.       default file size       -set to 100
  37.       
  38.       default font size       -set to 10-(but 'Print' facilities
  39.                                           are also disabled)
  40.                                    
  41.      'spareaccounts' location -set to default location in main
  42.                                application directory-(but disabled)  
  43.                                
  44.      'data' location          -set to default location in main
  45.                                application directory.

  47.   5.Saving graphs. The graphs produced by !Pennies can normally be
  48.     saved as drawfiles or sprites - this facility is not available in
  49.     this version although 2 examples of drawfiles are included in the
  50.     Examples directory.

  52.   6.Technotes Help. The full technotes help text is not available with
  53.     this version of !Pennies - it normally contains full details of
  54.     the file storage, functions and technical details of the
  55.     application.

  57.   7.Transactions on Fixed:Budget and Fixed:CalcAcct - in the full
  58.     version transactions can be made on both these account, in this
  59.     version you may edit or delete the automatically generated entries
  60.     but cannot make new entries.

  62.   8.Export of Fixed account - in the full version all fixed accounts
  63.     can be exported as with normals accounts.

  65. DISC SPACE/YOUR OWN ACCOUNT.

  67. !Farthing has been configured to run from a single floppy, even so if
  68. you store lots of data you may run short of disc space if using
  69. floppies. There are a number of ways to cure this problem:
  70.   
  71.   1. Use Squash to compress the 'data' directory within the !Pennydata
  72.      directory (initially inside the !Farthing directory) - !Pennies
  73.      handles squashed files automatically at a small reduction in
  74.      speed.
  75.     
  76.   2. Use a separate !Pennydata directory on a separate floppy disc.
  77.      The whole disc can then be used for data but you will have to
  78.      swap discs on loading and when using Help texts in a single disc
  79.      machine. See the instructions in the New directory.

  82.                    THE COMPLETE VERSION-NOTES

  85. The full version of !Pennies offers the full range of facilities.
  86. These make the application far more flexible in use and remove the
  87. limitations of this demonstration.

  89. AUTHOR'S NOTES
  90.  
  91. The whole !Pennies application has been developed privately for my own
  92. use and is under constant review. Facilities are enhanced whenever
  93. possible and other facilities are added when the need arises. I am
  94. also happy to provide customised functions and facilities within
  95. !Pennies if requested - these may then be offered in any future
  96. versions - any ideas are gratefully received.
