- THE PROJECT FACILITY
- ====================
-
- This facility will allow you to analyse any account or group of
- accounts over a set period and then project the results over another
- set period.
-
- START DATE
-
- Simply set, this is the date up to which the account will be analysed
- and from which the results will be projected.
-
- ANALYSIS PERIOD
-
- Select either months or years and then set the period. This is the
- period over which the account will be analysed up to the start date.
-
- PROJECTION PERIOD.
-
- As above, the period over which the results will be computed.
-
- SET RATES
-
- Set your own rates for these variables, different functions use these
- to project results. SEE FUNCTIONS for further info.
-
- ACCOUNTS GROUPS
-
- Any selected group of accounts will be analysed, to deselect a group
- just click over the accounts name. Clicking again will toggle the
- accounts back on.
-
- SINGLE/ARCHIVE ACCOUNTS
-
- To analyse a single account drag it to the window and it will be
- listed next to the 'Archive' entry. If more than one account is added
- in this manner only the last will be displayed but a list of all
- archive entries can be seen by clicking over the 'Archive' entry. Note
- any account can be entered like this not just archived ones.
-
- CLEAR
-
- Clicking over Clear will clear any results and any archive entries but
- will not affect the RATES or ACCOUNT GROUPS entered.
-
- GO
-
- When the 'GO' button is clicked every selected account is processed in
- turn, as this happens the individual account results appear in the
- FILE and RATE columns and then the total result for the group appears
- in the START and PROJECTED columns. The FILE and RATE entries are
- overwritten if more than 9 accounts are processed at once.
-
- IN/OUT/EXCESS
-
- These results figures represent the total cash flow into and out of
- projected accounts. The EXCESS is the difference which could be
- negative.
-
- REPORT
-
- The full results are compiled in a report which can be seen by
- clicking over the See button. The report is loaded into !Edit and
- displayed. The Print button allows you to print this report. The
- report includes a summary of the functions used to analyse each
- account. The totals displayed at the end of the report refer to the
- various groups of account thus:
-
- IN money gained in the pay accounts
- OUT all expenditure out of cash accounts
- XS the difference!
- CAP the total capital cash
- INV the total in investments
- COV the total life insurance cover

- FUNCTIONS
-
- The whole PROJECT process relies on a set of functions which analyse
- accounts in various ways. A selection of functions is provided and
- default functions are set up when an account is started. These can be
- changed at any time by EDITING the account from the account display.
- Different accounts need different functions for example a bank account
- will be used a lot and the balance will vary considerably, commonly
- over a monthly cycle, but the average balance will generally be fairly
- constant, thus it may be appropriate just to work on this average
- balance - FNavbalflat does just that. However, your expenditure on
- food will probably be fairly regular and in one direction only so a
- function to work out the average rate of expenditure is needed -
- FNspendrate does this and also projects the analysed rate with the
- addition of RPI on top. The full descriptions of functions is included
- in the TECHNOTES help text available from the iconbar menu.
