TriBBS Sysop Forum (Echotag TRI_SYSOP)
Moderated by Ronald Schlegel
FidoNet 1:110/1065
Over-view: This echo is an excellet place for TriBBS sysops to gather and
discuss the general operations of TriBBS. All are welcome. At the same
time, it is my personal hope that this echo can also go "a step beyond"
and evolve into a more technical nature. By this, I am referring to the
third-party development of TriBBS. If you're new to TriBBS and/or
programming...feel free to post in TRI_SYSOP. The philosophy is "The only
dumb question is the one that isn't asked". All I ask is to keep it
TriBBS related.
To the "non-programmers": Please, don't feel out of place! Your input is
VERY important! Without your ideas, third party developers have no idea
what you'd like to see! This leaves us "grabbing at straws" when we write
something for TriBBS. Let us know what you want...surely someone in here
can/will do it.
"The 10 commandments of TRI_SYSOP"
1) Any "Gating" of this echo must have prior approval of the moderator
2) The moderator will oversee to make sure that ONLY discussions of TriBBS
or related software is discussed in this echo.
3) New file announcements for releases of TriBBS related software will be
allowed. This is usually done via automated Allfix-type messages,
though any ASCII-based format is welcome.
4) Doorware authors who provide the dropfile for TRIBBS.SYS will be allowed
to advertise their products. Any utilities/doors NOT directly supporting
TRIBBS.SYS must have moderator approval. This includes, but not limited
to CBV's, screen generators, and utils that alter DOOR.SYS.
5) Third Party authors will be allowed (and encouraged) to advertise any
of their products. Third Party TriBBS software is highly encouraged.
Support for, and discussion of, third party products is welcome &
encouraged. "How to..." is an EXCELLENT topic!!! (Personally, I don't
mind helping people develop their products if I can.)
6) Absolutely NO public flaming of ANY kind will be tolerated. Anyone who
is caught in the act will get one (1) warning. The next offense will
result in that node being banished from the echo. There won't be any
netmail second warnings. In this ballgame there are only two strikes.
7) Lets not display any high ASCII. Please! Also we need to know your real
names, no aliases. Just be sure your real name is somewhere in the
message (header, body, footer, etc), I like to know who I'm yelling
at...<g>.
8) Try to keep origin lines to a minimum. (usually 2 or 3 lines is
sufficiant).
9) Replies to moderation in the echo is off-topic. Replies to off-topic
posts are also off-topic. Let the moderator do the moderating!
10) Most important, let's enjoy ourselves in helping each other out :).
