  6.                 These rules will be posted periodically.
  7.       <As near as the first and fifteenth of each month as possible>

  9. Ladies and Gentlemen,
  10.   This area is for the use of ALL Adults living in or near Florida <or who
  11.   wish to maintain and/or generate contacts within Florida> to communicate
  12.   ideas, make friends, meet, plan parties, and generally have a good time.
  13.   While being single is implied it isn't a requirement. Visitors Welcome!
  14.   One of the Hallmarks of the FL SINGLES & FRIENDS group is that we enjoy 
  15.   Helping Others! If you need help with something within our area, please 
  16.   don't hesitate to ask! Anything from "how to use an offline reader" to 
  17.   which are the best "dart players' hangouts in Orlando"<G>. Florida is one
  18.   of the Major Tourist Areas of the United States; you'll find some of this
  19.   state's Best Representatives on this board! Above all, please remember:

  23.   This Echo is open to All Adults. Participation in this echo means that
  24.   you agree to abide by the following guidelines.

  26. The rules are as follows:

  28.  1. Do nothing that violates any local, state, or federal laws. Especially
  29.     those laws regarding the use/abuse of Copyrighted Material; whether it
  30.     is electronic, magnetic, written, audio, software or any other form or
  31.     medium.
  32.  
  33.  2. Use of abusive language toward any individual is prohibited. Please
  34.     challenge the "issue" not the person. Good Manners should always be
  35.     your guide! If there is a problem with a message posted, report it
  36.     to the Moderator(s) _Privately_ and it will be dealt with! Normally
  37.     this won't be necessary as the Moderator(s) will usually already have
  38.     dealt with an offensive message poster but, if it's not covered by
  39.     these Rules and you feel it should be, report it to the Moderator(s)
  40.     and it may be included in the next update of rules if warranted!

  42.  3. The Moderator(s) will be the final authority when disputes between
  43.     individuals occur.

  45.  3a. The Moderator's interpretation of the Rules is the only interpretation
  46.      that matters. Dispute it at your peril!<G>

  48.  4. Aliases are permitted according to the policy of each SysOp;
  49.     however, real names must be provided upon request of the Moderator(s)
  50.     or your access to this echo may be denied. Your privacy will be 
  51.     respected as long as you act within the Echo Rules.
  52.  
  53.  5. Discrimination will not be tolerated. Please be sure to review what
  54.     you write in an effort to avoid offending others on this board.
  55.  
  56.  6. Advertisements are prohibited! There are echoes set aside for that.
  57.     Please use them.
  58.  
  59.  7. We expect no participant to be "excessively annoying," even as
  60.     we expect every participant not to be "easily annoyed." Again, let
  61.     Good Manners be your guide! If you wouldn't like something said to you
  62.     or about you, don't say those things to/about others on this echo!
  63.     (Arguing with the Moderator about Rules Interpretation is considered
  64.     to be "excessively annoying" and may lead to expulsion from the echo).

  66.  8. Please remember that this is a Public Message area, accessible to all
  67.     ages. While this area is intended for Adults Only, it is also accessible
  68.     to many adolescents. (Please Note: Accessible means that Minors may
  69.     be reading this echo. It does NOT grant posting privileges to teens).
  70.     Excessively explicit material should not be posted on this Public echo,
  71.     please keep this in mind.

  73.  9. This area is intended for Public Messages Only! If you are involved in
  74.     a Private dispute Please keep it Private! Your "dirty laundry" has no
  75.     place on this board!

  77. 10. Fidonet Policy prohibits sending Encrypted messages via Echomail.
  78.     This area is intended for Public Messages Only! If you need to send a
  79.     Private message, please use E-Mail, Netmail or snail mail.

  81. 11. The use of "High ASCII" characters is permitted in a limited usage, 
  82.     primarily in taglines. Sysops are requested to permit this usage but
  83.     are not required. If you want it turned "on" for your board, please 
  84.     request it of your sysop and refer him/her to this copy of the Echo 
  85.     Rules. If your sysop doesn't want to permit it there's nothing that 
  86.     can be done about it.

  88. 12. Infractions of these rules can lead to dismissal from this area.
  89.  
  90.    It is my understanding that many Sysops maintain a file area 
  91.    containing the Echo Rules for Conferences which they carry to 
  92.    facilitate posting in those areas. Please ask your sysops to 
  93.    carry this file for FL SINGLES & FRIENDS.

  95.    Everyone is encouraged to have their name and info included in the
  96.    Memberlist for FL SINGLES & FRIENDS; again, not required but 
  97.    encouraged<G>.
