Subj: FLA_COOKS Echo Guidelines - regular repost
This is the FLorida Cooking Echo. It is a region-specific conference
dedicated to the good cooking and eating found in the state of FLorida
from the western Panhandle to Key West; from possum and grits to escaveche
and Key Lime Pie.
This Echo is open to anyone interested in FLorida cuisine.
The conference is Moderated by Christopher Baker in Central FLorida at
1:18/14, in South FLorida by Bert Sainz at 1:135/55, and in North FLorida
by no one at present.
Anyone desiring a link to this Echo may contact one of the above or get it
directly from the Region 18 backbone via your normal Echomail channels! We
are on the Regional backbone and go out to the Southern Star and to
ProtoStar if you have regular links with them.
The recipes don't have to have originated in FLorida but a FLorida twist
wouldn't hurt. Using locally available ingredients would also be a nice
touch...calamondins, anyone? [grin]
Make sure your restaurant reviews contain the highlights of the menu and the
location of and directions to the place from out of town.
Any topic related to cooking and eating in FLorida is welcome. Anyone
posting in the Echo should remember that Echomail goes all over the place
so:
1. Keep it germane to the posted topic of FLorida cooking and eating.
2. Restaurant reviews are on-topic - be specific.
3. Avoid excessive quoting if possible. It costs money to send messages
but DO quote enough so others know what you are referring to.
4. DON'T get personal! Personal attacks and off-color language are
unnecessary and unwelcome in this conference.
5. No religion or politics! That stuff degrades an Echo faster than
anything we can think of.
6. ONLY the Moderators will address off-topic traffic.
7. NO private messages. Send private mail via Netmail.
8. NO handles or aliases unless a normal part of your BBSing and subject
to verification of real identity from your Sysop upon request from the
Moderators. Sysops should make sure your City is listed in the Origin.
9. Participate! And then participate some more.
10. Health food and diets are on-topic in case we eat TOO much! [grin]
That stated, let's get cooking!
