  11.                    GUIDELINES FOR ECHOLIST ECHO CONFERENCE
  12.  
  13.         These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
  14.         of the ECHOLIST echo, and will be posted in the echo conference
  15.         on the first day of each month.
  16.  
  17. 1.  DESCRIPTION
  18.  
  19.         ECHOLIST is an unrestricted administrative echo, connecting the
  20.         Echolist (Elist) Coordinator and sysops having an interest in
  21.         the contents of the Elist.
  22.  
  23. 2.  PURPOSE
  24.  
  25.         The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
  26.         conference updates between the monthly Elist file distribution
  27.         dates.  This echo also provides access to the Elist's author for
  28.         questions about the database which are not answered by the ELMOD
  29.         and ELFAQ help files.
  30.  
  31. 3.  MODERATOR
  32.  
  33.         The Moderator of ECHOLIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/201.
  34.  
  35. 4.  DISTRIBUTION
  36.  
  37.         Participation in ECHOLIST is open to Moderators, Echomail
  38.         Coordinators, and any sysop having an interest in the Elist and
  39.         its operation.
  40.  
  41. 5.  FEED STRUCTURE
  42.  
  43.         ECHOLIST is carried on the North American Backbone, and is
  44. |       listed in its echo list, BACKBONE.NA.  All Fidonet sysops are
  45. |       welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without further
  46. |       notice.  Permission is also granted to gate this echo to other
  47.         networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/201) is
  48.         advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions
  49.         are followed.

  51. 6.  TOPICS
  52.  
  53.         Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:
  54.  
  55.                 a.  Elist moderator updates posted by 1:1/201
  56.                 b.  Elist status announcements posted by 1:1/201
  57.                 c.  Elist help files posted by 1:1/201
  58.                 d.  Questions from participants about Elist operations
  59.  
  60.         Prohibited in this echo are as follows:
  61.  
  62.                 a.  Flames
  63.                 b.  Commercial advertisements
  64.                 c.  IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
  65.                 d.  Aliases
  66.                 e.  Messages regarding the moderation of this echo
  67.  
  68. These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
  69. deems necessary.  Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
