GUIDELINES FOR ECHOLIST ECHO CONFERENCE
These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
of the ECHOLIST echo, and will be posted in the echo conference
on the first day of each month.
1. DESCRIPTION
ECHOLIST is an unrestricted administrative echo, connecting the
Echolist (Elist) Coordinator and sysops having an interest in
the contents of the Elist.
2. PURPOSE
The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
conference updates between the monthly Elist file distribution
dates. This echo also provides access to the Elist's author for
questions about the database which are not answered by the ELMOD
and ELFAQ help files.
3. MODERATOR
The Moderator of ECHOLIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/201.
4. DISTRIBUTION
Participation in ECHOLIST is open to Moderators, Echomail
Coordinators, and any sysop having an interest in the Elist and
its operation.
5. FEED STRUCTURE
ECHOLIST is carried on the North American Backbone, and is
| listed in its echo list, BACKBONE.NA. All Fidonet sysops are
| welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without further
| notice. Permission is also granted to gate this echo to other
networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/201) is
advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions
are followed.
6. TOPICS
Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:
a. Elist moderator updates posted by 1:1/201
b. Elist status announcements posted by 1:1/201
c. Elist help files posted by 1:1/201
d. Questions from participants about Elist operations
Prohibited in this echo are as follows:
a. Flames
b. Commercial advertisements
c. IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
d. Aliases
e. Messages regarding the moderation of this echo
These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
deems necessary. Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
