Sterilization means preventing pregnancy by cutting off the supply of sperm in men or the supply of eggs in women. Male sterilization is called vasectomy. It involves cutting and tying the tubes that carry sperm from the testes to the penis.
Female sterilization involves cutting, tying, or blocking the fallopian tubes. Sterilization is very effective, the problem is it cannot be reversed in most cases.
