In this form of contraception, the man withdraws his penis from the vagina just before ejaculation. This is supposed to stop sperm from entering the woman's vagina.
Withdrawal is very unreliable because the man may not pull his penis out quickly enough. Also, some sperm come out of his penis before he ejaculates.
