  10. your SPEA GRAPHITI graphics-board has been tested with a wide variety of 
  11. hardware and software and complies with all valid and applicable standards 
  12. of hardware and software.
  13. Given the big variety of PC-mainboards, still increased by a lot of 
  14. additional components, both software and hardware, it is impossible to 
  15. foresee and test all potential combinations and configurations. Sometimes 
  16. adjustments and changes in the configuration might be necessary to provide 
  17. a smoothly running system.

  19. Important:

  21. Please, check first, whether you have the latest drivers installed. Compare
  22. the release of the drivers in our BBS with your currently installed 
  23. version. You will find the release date on the original disks of your 
  24. drivers and also in the comments to the drivers in our BBS. We recommend to
  25. note the release of downloaded software on the disk!
  26. Updates through the BBS or Compuserve are free! You only pay telephone-
  27. fees. 
  28. The following text contains hints, tricks and solutions for common 
  29. problems and requests.

  35. Please keep in mind that the options of the system-BIOS may vary. If any 
  36. of the options mentioned here should not be available, try to get an 
  37. updated BIOS or maybe adapt the recommended changes to the possibilities 
  38. of the installed BIOS in your PC.

  69. A1  Check and, if necessary, decrease the bus-speed. Bus-speed should not 
  70.     exceed 8.25 MHz.
  71.     Try the board in another slot or even in another PC.
  72.     Change the I/O-address of the graphics-board (default: 280h).
  73.     Run the hardware-test-program (...HARD.EXE).

  75. A2  Re-load the firmware: Call FGAPROM bzw. HIPROM.
  76.     Verify by displaying a testscreen (e.g. HITEST or GDCINST).
  77.  
  78. A3  Install version 7.21 of GDCINST.EXE (available in the BBS, file 
  79.     GDC486.EXE in search path Software Menu - Fuer Kunden:Datei abholen) 
  80.     and set the parameter  
  81.     "Kompatibler AT-Bus?" = N. 
  82.     FGA: Set Dipswitch Nr.3 to ON.

  84. A4  Deactivate all memory managers like QEMM, EMM386 in CONFIG.SYS before 
  85.     you install the GDC-software. (Place REM at the beginning of the 
  86.     respective line in the CONFIG.SYS)
  87.     
  88. A5  This effect may be caused by a bus timing problem.
  89.     To get color under VGA load in AUTOEXEC.BAT the file VGACOLOR
  90.     or start the following file when you have installed
  91.     - one monitor:   FGASINGL
  92.     - two monitors:  FGADUAL
