  3.                   Chapter 14.  The Father's House
  4.  
  5. The Son of God must depart but  He  promises  to  send  the
  6. Comforter,
  7.  
  8. l.   Jesus, the Way to the Father's House, v. 1-6.
  9.      Faith in the Father and faith in the Son are essential.
  10.      v. 1.
  11.      A place prepared for us by the Lord Jesus. v. 2-3,
  12.      Heaven is a place, a city prepared by God, Cf.  Heb.11:10,16.
  13.      Jesus is coming for His own. 1 Thes. 4:14-17.
  14.      "Where I am", The Presence of God in Christ is the Glory of
  15.      heaven.
  16.      He will come again and receive us so we may ever be with Him.
  17.      None but God could make the statement in John 14:6.
  18.      Jesus is the Way----no going without Him.
  19.      Jesus is the Truth--no knowing without Him,
  20.      Jesus is the Life --no living without Him.

  22.      There are not many ways to the Father, The Lord Jesus is the
  23.      only way.  "No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."

  25. 2.   Jesus and the Father are one. v.7-14.
  26.      He that hath seen the Lord Jesus, hath seen the Father, Heb.
  27.      1:3, 2 Cor. 4:4, Col. 1:15, 2:9, He is the image of the
  28.      invisible God.
  29.      He is the Word of God (John 1:1-3), the Revelation of God to
  30.      man.
  31.      Jesus is In the Father and the Father is in Him. v. 10-11.
  32.      The words and works of the Lord Jesus are the Father's.
  33.      The Promise of Greater Works, by faith in the Lord Jesus and
  34.      because He has ascended and is glorified v. 12.  This
  35.      promise will be completely fulfilled in the great revival in
  36.      the last days.
  37.      As Elisha received a double portion of the Spirit, so the
  38.      Church will receive her double portion of the Holy Ghost in
  39.      the final ministry in the and of this age. (Cf. 2 Kings 2:9).
  40.      This ministry will be bestowed because Christ is our
  41.      Intercessor at the right hand of God.  It will come through
  42.      prayer in His Name.  v. 13a.  It's great purpose will be
  43.      that "The Father may be glorified in the Son. v. 13b.  It
  44.      will come in answer to prayer. v. 14.
  45.      Love and obedience to the Lord Jesus are paramount. vs, 15.

  47. 3.   The Coming of the Comforter Consoles, v. 15-31.
  48.      Love and obedience are necessary to receive the Holy
  49.      Spirit. Acts 5:32. The Holy Spirit is given in answer to the
  50.      request of the Lord Jesus to the Father.
  51.      Verse 16 reveals the Trinity.
  52.           (1) The Father,
  53.           (2) Jesus, the Son,
  54.           (3) Another Comforter, the Holy Spirit.
  55.      The Holy Spirit will abide forever and will indwell the
  56.      believer. v.17.
  57.      The depth of fellowship in the Holy Spirit. v.20-26. The Holy
  58.      Ghost, the Comforter, to be sent by the Father in the Name of
  59.      the Lord Jesus Christ. v. 26.
  60.      He is the Great Teacher and Reminder.
  61.      Peace In the Holy Ghost, v. 27, Rom. 14:17.
  62.      The perfect obedience of the Son to the Father, manifesting
  63.      His love to the Father, is shown in Christ's death. v.
