- :::::::::::::: FUJILAND :::::::::::::::
-
- I thought you'd be out of my mind
- And I'd finally found a way to
- Learn to live without you
- I thought it was just a matter of time
- 'Til I had a hundred reasons
- Not to think about you
- But it's just not so
- And after all this time
- I still can't let go...
-
- :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
-
-
- Fujiland, the place for people faithful to the roots, people living their own
- way, ignoring the f*ckin' mainstream around... People who didn't sell their
- soul just 'coz someone else did. That's us - DREAM SURVIVORS.
-
- For most of us the Atari scene was the place of our youth, we grew up with this
- community. I remember all these gold years when Atari, even if not as strong as
- all the others, was able to pick up the glove to fight with them. This amazing
- power came from the community - their trust in the machine, the things they
- were doing... Thanx to the scene-Gods known from releases at the famous Fried
- Bits editions, we could hold our heads up! They brought us strength, faith and
- hope. Hope for better times, for believing that our scene would survive as long
- as such faithful sceners stay among us...
-
- ...but someday something started to screw up. They took all this away. Most of
- them repeated "I am addicted to the Atari", "Atari is a part of my life", "F*CK
- PC" etc.! We read similar sentences in various releases... and they left our
- fujiland.
-
- ------ - -- - ----------------------------------------------------
- Nothing surprising at all, many people grew up and left us!
- ------------------------------------------------------ --- - -----
-
- That's right, I am not going to fight against this argument! But I don't like
- it when somebody makes a fool of me! I would like to offer some evidence...
-
- One of the coolest demo groups in the Falcon scene from Germany also turned out
- to be one of the most disappointing. I won't mention their name out of respect
- for their activity in the past, for bringing us a lot of joy. One of their
- coders has been interviewed in a well known disk-mag. Motivation to take part
- in this interview was a sad fact about their leaving the Falcon scene. That was
- surely a big loss for every demo-maniac, so I read this interview with much
- attention. The coder from this group shattered all doubts... they've decided to
- enter the boring PC world... to earn money. It's sad and brutal but most
- ex-Atarians have now learned to code on the hateful PC, mainly 'coz it was the
- only way to maintain a family. They asked for understanding and assured us
- about their attachment to the fujiland.
-
- That's ok, BUT...
-
- ------- - - - ----------------------------------------------------
- Does someone pay for making... PC demos?
- -------------------------------------------------------- - - - --
-
- I have to admit I've been so damn astonished seeing their PC demo made shortly
- after this interview! Where is this f*ckin' "attachment to the fujiland" folx?
- What the hell happened to it?! Does making PC demos really improved your
- financial situation? Really interesting.
-
- They were brave to enough bring about this PC stuph even under the same
- label... Thats nothing other than big-sized INSOLENCE, spitting in the faces of
- the rest of the Atarians.
-
- I see nothing wrong in making peezee demos at all and this article wasn't
- written to build an army against that scene. Surely the demo-scene brightened
- up this boring Gates Grotto, no question. But I never could enter this world,
- I like the place where I am, the community, friendship, performing dreams...
- And I am so f*ckin' addicted to all of that! :o) Reading their words about
- "attachment" to us, I felt part of the family. But they decided to divorce us
- and the picture of this family became quite impaired...
-
- I thought they were one of us...
-
- I really would like to write their name, but out of respect for their great on
- the Falcon scene I won't do it. If you are a busy observer of the scene then
- you should guess yourself about who I was writing about.
-
- There are also some others who followed their footsteps, I could throw
- examples also from the 8-bit Atari scene, but wot4...? They are few more
- worthless lines...
-
- Anyway I am still here, 'coz NONE CAN STOP YOU DREAMIN'!
-
-
- ::::::::::::::: FINAL THOUGHT :::::::::::::::::
-
- I remember "them" laughin', seeing we were still here. What a load of losers -
- "they" seemed to repeat again and again. "They" entered the new world - a world
- of "new possibilities"... Atari became only a nostalgic memory, a short column
- in their book of life...
-
- ...and now some of "them" wish they could come back...We hear they are knockin'
- on the Fujiland door... Shall we open it to "them"...? Shall we forgive
- "them"...?
-
- That's your own choice. I will leave the door half-open anyway... But its the
- last time I do...
