  32. work at ZTT up until about a year ago. Whilst I was there for some 3 years I

  34. were in dust covered cupboards waiting to be thrown out and some were even

  258. the gimp who wrote this review seems be very self-impressed. If Mr.
  259. Morley's observations are so "pedestrian" (at least to Mr. Toor), then, how
  260. can this individual see his way to write columns for a magazine designed
  261. -like every other- to appeal to something pedestrian..? Pop culture. I
  262. don't necessarily mind pop culture; but, once anything becomes pop, it, by
  263. definition is, well..., pedestrian: noticed, acknowledged and embraced by
  264. the masses. I don't think that Mr. Morley was pointing out things nobody
  265. noticed before. But it, sometimes, helps to remind people.
  266.     And I don't take kindly to Mr. Toor describing Anne Dudley as being
  267. "stern looking." That is the last thing I would have said, to describe her.
  268. In all fairness, I, still feel that she's rather pretty.
  269.     So Mr. Horn looked like a school teacher; who cares? As long as he's
  270. comfortable, piss on the reviewer! You don't get a good performance if
  271. members are uncomfortable. Besides, you get a better idea of who you're
  272. dealing with. Case in point: Prince... How many men can one think of that
  273. actually look comfortable -at home- in spike heeled boots and a guitar? Yet
  274. it doesn't seem to phase him. In fact he looks so comfortable in such
  275. getups that they don't seem out of place on him, to me.
  276.     Granted, when AON played in Chicago, last October, Mr. Creme reminded
  277. me of an auto mechanic. But, 1.) he looked like he was comfortable that
  278. way; and 2.) he played like he was comfortable. So it didn't matter.
  279.     One last thing, here. I think our reviewer missed the point that Mr.
  280. Morley was driving at. Now, I may be wrong. But, I thought it was more an
  281. attempt to illustrate how the more things change, the more they stay the
  282. same. By looping back and forth between Claude Debussy's history and  our
  283. own, I thought he was identifying parallels just as much as he was any
  284. evident breakdown of society. As it is, every society seems to encounter
  285. this predicament at the turn of each century. Therefore, is it not
  286. reasonable to point this out through the near universal vehicle of music?
  287. After all, extensive schooling, alone, doesn't seem to be preventing us
  288. from committing historic redundancy.

  421. At this point, I don't think that ZTT is capable of re-releasing the original remixes because they probably threw them out into the trash!!!!

  423. If anyone at ZTT reads this list - I challenge you to verify that you have ANY ORIGINAL remix master tapes left around!!!

  425. Personally, I am getting very tired of this reinvent the wheel thing... just give us a disc with the original remixes on it!!  I am not going to continue to buy the same material over and over again with remixes that rate as just ok.

  459. According to a recent email from someone at ZTT they apparently had some 
  460. trouble locating some of the older mixes but "during 2001 [they] hope to 
  461. release individual album collections of Relax and Two Tribes and probably 
  462. gather together some other mixes."  He also notes that these will most likely 
  463. only be available through the ZTT site.

  465. Well, let's hope so, but I'd rather see some of the PoL and Pleasuredome 
  466. remixes appear on cd, and the cassette versions of all of them as well.
  467.  
  468. Personally, I'm enjoying the new mixes.  They're close enough to the original 
  469. tracks only with an updated sound.  Mind they're not as stunning as the 
  470. original Two Tribes mixes, but they're a far sight better than AoN's Drum and 
  471. Bass collection...

  473. Does anyone know if the Frankie DVD will be available for Reigon 1/NTSC?  
  474. I'll be right pissed if it's not made available to US fans.  We missed out on 
  475. the last video...

  498. i was clearing out some old stuff of mine at my parents recently, and came
  499. across this:

  501. FGTH - Welcome To The Pleasuregame

  503. it's a great 6"x8" box set from 1985, containing the FGTH game for the ZX
  504. Spectrum on cassette, plus a bonus cassette of 'relax' recorded live from
  505. 1983.
  506.  
  507. the box is in excellent condition, and the 12 page colour booklet that comes
  508. with it is in good condition.
  509.  
  510. so, i thought someone on the list might want it???
  511.  
  512. i didn't want to put in on ebay, and thought i'd offer it up for bids via
  513. the list.

  515. i've no idea what it's worth, so if someone wants to start the bidding at 10
  516. UKP, that's a start.

  1045. One of those odd cultural quirks, I guess.  I had a similar question when
  1046. Alphaville chose Salt Lake City as one of their only stops on a recent
  1047. reunion tour.  From what I've been told, SLC had, and has, a huge level of
  1048. support for "80's bands."  Radio plays them, concert promoters book them,
  1049. and the audience supports them.  I don't think I could live in Utah just
  1050. for that though.
