Subject: (ztt) trevor horn's score for coyote ugly
Date: 01 Aug 2000 14:15:36 -0400
ZTT'ers:
Does anybody out there know anything about Trevor Horn's musical score for
Coyote Ugly, the forthcoming Jerry Bruckheimer atrocity. Horn is credited
with the musical score, however the soundtrack album is filled with "hits"
that Trevor had no involvement with (Don Henley, EMF, INXS, Leann Rimes,
etc.) Will there be a separate soundtrack featuring Horn's music? I've been
searching the Internet for info and am coming up blank. Help????
And between this and Days of Thunder, what's Horn's attraction to working
with these Hollywood shysters???? Toys (the movie) is looking like a
masterpiece in comparison.

Two Tribes. Have to say that the mixes ain't up to much.
1. Rob Searle Club Mix Radio Edit
2. Apollo 440 Remix Edit
3. Rob Searle Club Mix
It will probably be stated as being 'big in the club scene', but don't let
that fool you.
It does state CD1 on the cover so maybe a second disc will be available.

Dear Zangers,
Further to my previous question, would anyone recommend a website
which enables you to put together custom Cds?
To recap, I'm looking for classic 808 state tracks, ie. from 808:90,
Ex:el, Gorgeous, and tracks like Olympic.
I have many of these on cassette, but wish to get CD copies.
Are they available on the 'Universal' label? Perhaps Lazlo may be of
help?
Thanks,
John.

Subject: (ztt) new Trevor production...
Date: 08 Aug 2000 19:08:58 -0700
Hi Zangers,
Good news. A friend of mine got the Coyote Ugly soundtrack and told me that
Trevor did produce the 4 new Leann Rimes songs. They sound an awful a lot
like Leann trying to sound like Britney Spears if you ask me! :)
No word from any labels yet if there will be a score release, but from
having seen the movie there didn't seem to be a ton of incidental music.
Naturally I mind if they did release one. The stuff that was in the film
was fine but being in the background I couldn't really hear it too closely.
Oh wait, did I just admit that I went to see the film? ;) oh welL!

Dear Mr Halachmi
Thank you for your recent order which included the Frankie Goes To Hollywood
album - Welcome to the Pleasure Dome. Unfortunately, due to a pressing
error, the track 'Born To Run' was not included on the disc.
The record company is aware of this and will repress the item and send
replacements to us. This will then be sent to you.
In the meantime please return the faulty item to us. Regrettably our
'freepost' labels are not valid outside the UK. However, if you return the
item to me at the address below, I will ensure you are refunded for any
postage cost incurred.

Got it?
Go try to get your copy of the misprint is out of print (or back at ztt's
trash can).
I still haven't got my copy in the mail,
so i can't comment on that.
Good luck,

Subject: (ztt) ZTT Reissues
Date: 16 Aug 2000 22:38:59 +0200
Hello Zangers,
I got the ZTT re-releases today from HMV and i have to say
that ZTT did an excellent job this time.
The design is great, many new pictures!!! (quote: "From the ZTT
archive..."),
excellent sleeve notes from Chris Welch and Jerry Ewing,
including interviews with Trevor Horn and Jill Sinclair.
They tell many new things about the differnet mixes and the
history of ZTT. Overall - the booklets are a must to read,
even is some parts of the articles return in albums of the same artist,
there is always something new in each booklet.
THIS IS A MUST FOR EVERY ZTT FUN AND COLLECTOR.
Regarding the FGTH WTTP mispress:
"Born To run" is out of the CD,
but they also switched "San Jose" with "Fury",
so the tracklist of the mispressed CD is:
1. The world is my oyster
2. Welcome to the pleasuredome
3. Relax
4. War
5. Two Tribes
6. (tag)
7. San Jose
8. Fury
9. Wish the lads were here
10. The ballad of 32
11. Krisci kisses
12. Black night white light
13. The only star in heaven
14. The power of love
15. Bang
16. One september monday
17. One february friday
Again, try to get your copy of the mispressed CD,
before they are all returned to the ZTT trash can.
It's a collectable!
(by the way - i got 2!!! HMV send to me by mistake 2 copies
of WTTP mispress CD instead of one Reload!)
Get this limited edition reissues. It's great.

Subject: (ztt) 'Tribal Futures: The Way Ahead'
Date: 24 Aug 2000 12:44:55 +0100
some info that may interest some of you...i heard about the album and got in
touch with survival international, who sent me the press release and
tracklisting below - 808state fans should check out the last track...
_________________________________________
Leftfield, Banco de Gaia and The Orb give something back to tribal peoples:
Unique new album in aid of Survival International
A remarkable compilation album, Tribal Futures: the way ahead, will be
released on 23 October 2000 by Survival, the world's leading organisation
for tribal peoples' rights. Leading artists in the dub and trance scene have
produced original tracks and special remixes to create a unique album to
raise funds for Survival's campaigns.
Tribal Futures celebrates the importance of tribal communities and their
music in the 21st century. The artists have drawn inspiration from the music
and dances of particular tribes, including the Kalahari 'Bushmen', African
'Pygmies', Australian Aborigines and Amazonian Indians, reflecting their
empathy with indigenous communities.
For over thirty years, Survival has campaigned for the rights of tribal
peoples worldwide, from the reindeer-herding Khanty of Siberia to the
honey-hunting Ogiek of Kenya, from the uncontacted Indians of Brazil to the
forcibly-settled Innu Indians of Canada, with many successes. Current
threats to tribal peoples include illegal logging, mining, colonisation and
dams, and the violence, crippling suicide rates and disease that is
introduced to tribal communities.
If tribal peoples are to continue to survive, it is vital that they are seen
as relevant to the present day, and not as relics destined to perish through
'progress'. The dance and trance scene has been heavily influenced by tribal
music, and this is a great opportunity for the music industry to 'give
something back' to indigenous communities. Tribal Futures is part of an
ongoing project which aims to raise awareness of these threatened peoples
and help fund Survival's vital work with them. This album is the first in a
series of remixes, events and live recordings to be released under
Survival's label, Yombo. For the Yaka Pygmies of Northern Congo, 'Yombo'
means life. Survival and Yombo are ideally placed to give tribal peoples a
voice, and to bring their music and culture to a wider audience.
Notes to editors:
The Tribal Futures CD will be available at all good record shops, on-line
(www.survival-international.org), or by mail order for ú13.99. All proceeds
from the sale of this album will go directly towards funding Survival's work
with indigenous communities.
On 22nd September Survival will hold a press event at the Tabernacle in
Ladbroke Grove, London. Also, in collaboration with Dragonfly Records,
Survival will host a launch party at the end of October 2000. Artists
featured on the album will DJ or perform live at these events.

AS someof you know a promo for a Rob Searle remix of Moments in Love surfaced
recently. Here is some more information directly from Zang:
"Incidentally, 'Moments In Love' will be released in the first week of
November and is not actually by AON but by Vision, although it does have an
authorised sample of AON (particularly in the radio edit). The CD will also
feature a new Minky mix (watch this space)"

In a Goth Bar, I heard a cover of FGTH's Rage Hard
Actually sounded not bad
some more pop folks might not think so
probably a german band because of the real deep vocals
anyone know who did it?
i searched on Napster & no go

There's a link to their site - and a Real Audio sample - on my site...

BTW...
There's been a cover version of "Two Tribes" by "Think About
Mutation" (T:A:M) last year.
I think it's been used as title track for the last Command & Conquer
game.
Erm, I guess it's already a know fact, that the current "Bloodhound
Gang" single "Mope" heavily samples "Relax"...? (Including the hook-line.)
The Pet Shop Boys Remix features different Relax samples.
Greetings
Joerg

I think the German label has the chance to alter the track listing so there
might be an improvment there...
God, how I hate San Jose...

I really hope so!
After all... I've been told of a number of unreleased tracks - Disneyland,
Junk Funk, and others....
And let's face it - if you really wanted to do something different... even
the original 12" mixes of the tracks instead of the bog standard
originals....
And why not the remix of the Godley & Creeme 2 Tribes video....??????
What *was* the point in re-releasing Welcome, Liverpool, Shoot & Re-Load
otherwise!!!!
Hmmm... what's the betting of a *decent* bootleg compilation being put
together?

Yes indeed, I was really hoping to have some of the rare stuff released on
CD for the first time. To me it doesn't make much sense to release the same
versions that are already included on the albums again on another
compilation. I'd really like to hear the original 20 minute mix of Relax
that is mentioned in the booklet of the WTTP reissue...
Hmm, I have once put together two CDRs of rare material for my own use. They
include tracks like Relax (16 min mix), WTTP (pleasurefix), The Only Star In
Heaven (starfix), Disneyland, Rage Hard (dave bascombe mix), Warriors
(attack), Watching The Wildlife (die letzten tage der menschheit mix) etc.
Maybe I should forward the tracklisting to ZTT as a suggestion?
