Yes, same line up. It's way different than the other 2, _GOAV_, and _BS_.
First of all, it's 2 discs, both clock in around 40 or so minutes. Compare
that to the other 2 that barely make 25 minutes! I just got it, and only
have about 1.5 listens. It not such an all out attack like the other two.
There's some quiet time between the jamming. Harris is the real star, so
far. Amazing drum work. The second disk is titlied _Ambient_. There's
not much to this, lots of spacey music, with the guys fading in every now
and again.

Subject: Naked City T-shirts?
Hey there--
I've tried my ass off to find any Zorn T-shirts, anybody know
where I can mail order them? I wrote Shimmy Disc for a catalog, but they
had a distinct lack of Naked City stuff, much to my dismay. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: ground zero
I just saw Ground Zero play with Otomo Yoshihide in ChicaGO with the
Contortions and Gastr del sol and Otomo honestly made the following bands
seem like they were diluted. I get a lot out of Jim O'rourke's stuff but
on the same bill as Otomo his band couldn't compare in power or sonic
effect. If you have the opportunity to see Ground Zero live you better go
or you are stealing from yourself.

Third Person is actually Tom Cora (cello) & Samm Bennett's (drums) project.
There is always a 3rd, invited person (hence the name of the group). I
believe there is just one CD by them (out on Knitting Factory).
Re: Chris Cochrane - I'd start with the two great No Safety CDs on Knitting
Factory. He's also now a member of Curlew, & will be appearing on their
upcoming release (as yet untitled).

the black cat folks usually lock the doors at around 550 people. i doubt
there are 550 painkiller fans in d.c. & environs. neither of the two masada
shows there sold out--i'd say there were maybe 200 people. i wouldn't worry
much about being able to get in.
for those who will be at the black cat, i have some good news: the sound there
has recently gotten a lot better, both for performers and listeners. we
played there on 4/1 and it was by far the best sound we've ever had there.
dante got a new crossover and fixed a bad speakers-out-of-phase problem that
they had had for a long time but not realized. you can now hear the vocals,
and there is much more clarity to everything else (as a bass player, i had
suffered a lot with the low-end mud in that room). we should actually be able
to hear all the sick shit laswell will throw at us....

I don't have the Third Person cd in front of me, but I thought that Third
Person was Tom Cora and Sam Bennett, and the 'third person' is someone that
they add for any given performance. The third person keeps changing, and
the cd I have is preformances with various 3rd people from different shows.
Chris Cochrane is probably best heard via his band No Safety, which includes
Zeena Parkins and Ann Rupel, amongst others. No Safety is one of my
favorite bands, alongside Skeleton Crew in it's wonderfully erratic but
precisely controlled changes.
