Buckethead has an album on avant called "Bucketheadland", its kind of a crazy
concept album about his dream themepark Bucketheadland. And since Buckethead
has been brought up does anyone know if his new album has been released or
when it will be released?

This is an album under the artist name Death Cube K (which, if you look at
long enough, you will realize is an anagram) called _Dreamatorium_ and is
more of an ambient thing. If people are looking for Buckethead stuff,
there is a fair amount of it around. Among them - soundtrack to The Last
Action Hero; Jonas Hellborg, Buckethead and Michael Shrieve: Octave of the
Holy Innocents; Divinations Volume 1: Ambient Dub; Hakim Bey: T.A.Z.; all
three Praxis albums; one of Henry Kaiser's albums (his first recorded
appearance as far as I know and the only one under his real name); and a
few more.

Patrice,
I didn't see your e-mail address on your reply. I found out about the "Avant"
label from the Allan Holdsworth digest..Atavachron@msuacad.morehead-st.edu.
There were some discussions comparing Buckethead to a young Allan Holdsworth.
Thats it...
bye,

I know nothing about the specific art on Zorn's labels, but if you like
this stuff, check out the web site of Hisayoshi Osawa, an excellent
Japanese photographer. It is at:

Ok this had me confused for awhile. The SUBHARMONIC label is Laswell's
you say? I had it mixed up with the SUBSONIC label, a spinoff of
SUBROSA. Confused yet? Anyway, there is a Marc Ribot/Fred Frith split
CD on SUBSONIC that is purportedly worthwhile.
Does anybody know any more about the histories of either one?

You can still get it from Cadence in NY but it will set ya back $32 plus
postage as it is a 2cd import. <Buckethead Avant#7> Cadence is at
315.287.2852.
Also, what's this about a zorn label? :)
Just picked up Masada #2 from downtown music! Good stuff, though not as good
as live (what is?).

I tried to order this from a record store and they had never heard of it,
although they stock alot of Zorn and Zorn related bands. It's on the
Paddlewheel label, which they also had never heard of. Can anyone help?

I have a copy of Bucketheadland...it is on AVANT and this is John Zorns
Japanese label.for more info you can write to this address:
BUCKETHEADLAND; SUITE 545
976 W. FOOTHILL BLVD.
CLAREMONT, CA 91711
I bought it at a store called "Rocks in Your Head" in New York City (near
the village). This record store will help people locate music. I dont have
their address...lost it. Call them and find out.

Subject: The origins of Buckethead
A friend of mine told me that Buckethead is a carnivorous (that means he only
eats meat) alien (like,
from outer space, not Mexico) who, when transcribing his songs, writes only
in chicken blood.
Can anyone confirm this?
I know Bootsy's from outer space, but is Buckethead, too?
And does he really have a bucket for a head?
