  24. He has an album out on Subharmonic, Laswell's label, but under 
  25. some collective pseudonym which escapes me at the moment. You can also 
  26. hear him & Zorn on various discs on Incus, Derek Bailey's label, 
  27. particularly the Company series.

  40. Zorn has a label called Avant? Wow, you should give us the name of such a well
  41. informed mailing-list? Maybe you are pulling our leg :-). I have never heard 
  42. of such a thing (although it is a well known fact that Zorn is auto-producing 
  43. tapes that he sells after the shows in order to be able to pay the rent; I 
  44. guess that it is what this "Avant" is all about).

  54. don't know if it's his, but by the artists on it, sounds plausible to 
  55. me.  avant is a label out of japan which features projects by fellow 
  56. knitting factory folks, wayne horvitz (naked city) stuff, lots of whoever 
  57. noise you want.

  59. check forced exposure (fe@shore.net) and they should be able to set you 
  60. straight with this.  you might ask for a catalog but it's superfat (225K) 
  61. so think hard before you make a move such as that.  i'm just kidding, i 
  62. really don't care what you do

  80. The label has been around for several years.  The album is called
  81. Bucketheadland.  It is out of print and unlikely to get reissued despite
  82. the fact that Tzadik is going to reissue most of the Avant releases.  Most
  83. people didn't like it (I think it has some good spots.)

  85. There is another Buckethead CD that is far better, Giant Robot, and it has
  86. been released in Japan by Sony, but it appears highly unlikely that it will
  87. get US release and I don't think Sony will allow importing.  The best track
  88. on Bucketheadland ("Welcome to Bucketheadland") is done in a much better
  89. version on Giant Robot.

  109. yes...his original label, based in Japan.  Other releases include loads 
  110. of excellent Naked City releases, Fushitsusha's _Allegorical 
  111. Misunderstanding_, and my favorite Boredoms album, _WOW 2_.

  117. I adore this record and am fascinated (being a Japanophile) by the photgraphic
  118. imagery on the cover, not to mention the illustrations by the japanese artist.
  119. The sleeve says they come from Zorn's private collection, but does anyone have
  120. further information on the origins of this material.
