Readers of this list will be happy to know that an great interview resides within the August issue of Jazziz and that we even get a mention in the article's opening paragraph as "rabid twenty something fans checking out daily postings on the zorn list" (almost an exact quote - I'm conjuring from memory here.) Young at heart in any case ... ; )
happy listening (and reading)

Subject: two cents on Shrek.
I picked up the Live Shrek cd awhile back, and while I haven't listened to it
much, I would like to argue it's not as bad as it's getting credit for. It's
incredibly disjointed, silly, absurd, rock and roll. I think a lot of people
are judging it by the Jazz standard, and it's got absolutely nothing to do
with jazz. It's loud and obnoxious, and there's nothing that i find more
funny that Ribot singing. He seems like this "play it cool" kind of guy, and
then he sings these utterly inane phrases like, "Yo! I killed your god,
that's what this machine gun's for.." If you buy an album called Yo! I killed
your god, you should probably expect it to sound like this.
