I know that there IS a live Plastic People CD that recently came out from their Czech label recorded earlier this year. The New York show is on July 18th at Irving Plaza- first time they've played
here in the States and the only date they have planned in the States right now as far as I know.

On the pop/industrial side, you might try Muslimgauze. They have tons
of albums, with varying degrees of electronics mixed in with the
percussion. I only have a half dozen or so of their earlier albums.
A word of warning, their album cover art can be militantly
pro-Palestinian, a sentiment which I for one don't hear in their
music, but some people find this offensive.
On the improv side, I recommend Fritz Hauser, a Swiss percussionist
with several recordings on Hat and Intakt. His recordings are very
clear and precise, a joy to listen to. The solo albums I prefer are
Pensieri Blanchi (sp?) on Hat, a series of gallery pieces which
accompanied a series of drawings; and 2 1 3 (... more numbers ...) on
Intakt, which includes some composed pieces as well as improv. He's
not as noisy as Le Quan Ninh's album, but very enjoyable nonetheless.
Also on Intakt is a release by Pierre Favre about which I've read
positive reviews, but I haven't heard the album.
Le Quan has an entry in the European Free Improviser's page at
http://www.shef.ac.uk/misc/rec/ps/efi/ehome.html which provides a more
complete discography. This site is a great reference for anyone
interested in the subject.

I recall some conversation of Pere Ubu in the past so this shouldn't be too
far off subject. Has anyone bought the Datapanik in Year Zero boxed set? If
so can I ask if you might be willing to tape the last two discs for me? I
have all the vinyl and can't justify spending $50 for 2 discs. And really
the one I want most is the last one, in case 2 is too much too ask.

Hey, it was a slow list day ;-)
Of course, you're correct--I'd buy any disc with music that has the
quality of 'Urlicht', no matter how hideous the packaging. At the same
time, it's clear that many labels spend a great deal of time and care
on artwork, and it seems reasonable to me to discuss the pros and cons
therein. Besides, it gives us visual art types something else to yap
about.
