  119. _Homeing_ as a conduction.  It is interesting to note the number of
  120. conductions  documented up to that point- 50 of them as of March 5, 1995.  In
  121. this case, the box set itself represents less than half of these conductions
  122. as a whole.  One wonders how many of these suffered an early demise due to the
  123. musicians "not clicking" on that day.

  311. they'd discover. I found myself thinking, "OK, Butch, provide these guys
  312. with the germ of your idea and let them take off with it." But, I guess
  313. that wouldn't be a "conduction". Bitch, bitch bitch....

  325. I've just picked up the new Cecil Taylor CD "The Tree of Life" (along
  326. with the new Butch Morris 2CD "Berlin Skyscraper") on FMP.  And while it
  327. is a typically powerful and beautiful CT solo disc, I just want to
  328. mention that nowhere on the outside of the package ((C) and (P) 1998) is
  329. there any evidence to indicate that the recording actually dates from
  330. 3/19/91, a live performance from the "Deutsche Oper Berlin."  CT fans
  331. will be more than satisfied by the performance, but the lack of CT
  332. recordings more recent than 1993 (the date "Always a Pleasure" was
  333. recorded) continues.  I haven't a clue why this should be.

  336. Once again, as when he was at Iridium earlier in the year, what was
  337. billed as a trio was in fact a quartet, which in itself would have been

  340. on this date and the Iridium run, neither of which I knew about until
  341. well after the fact.  Is it really that hard to get the facts right when

  359. I really recommend this album, frith really shows a different side of
  360. himself, not so 'academic' like on 'the previous evening' or albums like
  361. that. This time he plays more in a 'pop style' but still with his
  362. typical 'sound' (distortion, improv,...).
  363. Favorite tracks are: Iurodivi (frith on accoustic guitar, beautiful) and
  364. Lunarsa (frith on violin).
  365. How does the album sound: sort of ambient, but with an edge...
  366.  
  367. By the way: has anyone on the list got a copy of the new frith album on
  368. tzadik records? How does it sound ????

  477. letter that printed in the circle on the disc is not "HET", it`s "ZAYIN".
