  62. well, he was very much alive when we spoke on the phone yesterday, and in the
  63. kind of mental state i hope to be in when i'm his age-- he's a year younger
  64. than sinatra, says he hasn't even had a cold in 2 years.

  80. Just wanted to take a moment to second somebody's (sorry, I've been catching
  81. up and lost track) positive comments on guitarist John Fahey's disk
  82. Womblife. I've been listening to it almost constantly since I got it a
  83. couple of weeks ago, and think it's easily one of the best disks of the
  84. year. It would not be out of place in any zornsters collections. It's got an
  85. ambient/wall of sound kind of approach, filled with noise and clatter, but
  86. also filled with emotion and the blues. Dark and disturbing, it doesn't get
  87. much better. I know that Fahey's been around since the 60's, but I only have
  88. this and the prior release. I know that his early work is also considered
  89. fantastic, but can anyone give me any insight?

  91. Also add my name to the raves on Jim Black, I've seen him twice now, with
  92. different grouips, and can't add anything that others haven't already said.
