Subject: (yello) The long wait down under
Hello friends,
just wanted to know how any of the other Aussies are going trying to get
their hands on the new music.
Has anyone had any luck at a record store?
I placed an order this morning for the Squeeze Please single. Should be
here in a couple of weeks, but I am never too sure whether or not to trust
them. This was at HMV here in Brisbane by the way. They didn't have Motion
Picture on their list yet, but if they manage to get the single in, they
should eventually be able to get the full cd in.
Rocking Horse Records in the city didn't know anything about it. (But I did
manage to pick up Stellar Supreme, by Cosmic Baby, which I had been
searching for for 3 years, so the trip wasn't wasted. Great album).
Regards,
Craig.

Hiya Craig.
I haven't tried myself yet, but "Rockaway Records" at Paddington (107
Latrobe Tce) may be of some help. I've used them in the past, and they've
seemed to come through with the good most of the time.
Let me know if you have any luck.
Your fellow Australian Brisbanite (that is I live is Brisbane as well.

For a long time, I've seen little extensions on the end of record company
names on the back of my favorite CD's :
(ex: London Records "Ltd."; "Inc." ; etc.)
I know where most of these are from, but can someone tell me what the
follwing extensions actually mean ? :
"GmBh" (Germany)
"Pty." (Australia ?)
"Pte." (Asia ?)
"NV" (Belgium ?)
"BV" (Netherlands ?)
"KK" (Japan)
"S.A." (France ?)
"Srl" (Italy)
I was just curious, as this is something that has been puzzling me for a
long time. :-)

I don't have a credit card, which makes ordering over the net more difficult.

Pocket Universe has been around in a few stores. Haven't seen anything of
the remix cd though.

Hi,
just received this message below. It says, that Dieter Meier will be on
German TV today night at the Harald-Schmidt-Show. This show is an almost
perfect copy of the Dave-Letterman-Show and very well known in Germany. I
will send a report tomorrow. I assume this message comes from my
subscription to a yello related news letter at mercury records.
Cheers

As far as I know, this is a sort of company that
has a special agreement with the community.
So if the company closes the government has
only limited access to the private investors of the former company.
This means that the investor looses the money he put into the company
when it is closed, but the community or the government has no access
to his private money.
The same for all the other comanies (ltd. srl. sra. and so on...)

Hello all!
I have Motion Picture. And it is a great album. I just love it.
Very cool, very nice. Very Yello. Better than Pocket Universe. Probably
one of the best Yello albums ever. Have to listen to it a couple more
times just to make sure, though.

Subject: (yello) Dieter Meier at Harald Schmidt Show on German TV
Hi,
I watched the Harald Schmidt Show on German TV SAT1 yesterday evening.
Dieter Meier appeared as a guest. He talked with Harald for about 5 minutes.
Dieter appeared very relaxed and self-assured. Harald Schmidt tried to do
jokes about the Swiss tardiness, but Dieter did not follow this jokes.
Example: when they came to Dieter's daughter's favourite music style techno,
Harald said: Techno goes like boom-boom-boom-boom-boom, in Switzerland it's
more like booom - booom - booom - booom
- - Dieter gave a short review of his activities: 1st single was 'cry for
fame' on Peripheric Perfume
- - Appeared in Swiss magazine 'Life & Style'; Harald showed two pages with
four homes of Dieter; Dieter said, that he is not the owner of all 4 homes;
he considers them as garages for his projects
- - Dieter is still working on movie now named 'lightmaker'. Funny thing is,
that as the production lasts over 10 years now, the actors also get older;
now he is creating the soundtrack for the movie
- - Dieter is the father of 4 childresn, the eldest one is a 15 year old
daughter. She likes Techno
- - When he started with yello, they thought of beeing 'verwurzelte
provinzielle Dilletanten'. [Maybe somebody has an idea how to translate
this]. They never had plans to become famous or even trendsetters for music.
I did some screenshots from my TV, the quality is not so good, but I think,
you can get an impression. Please check out

Hi !
Thanks for making the intervju as well as the screenshots available for us.
I think that 'verwurzelte provinzielle Dilletanten' should be something like
"Deeply Rooted provincial Dilettants" or maybe amatuers instead of
dilettants.
Kindest regards
:-)
