I too want to ask why the single and album are not available in UK, no
record shops have heard of it. This also happened with the PU singles -
nothing! The shit we get in our charts here spreads everywhere like a
disease and yet Yello's fab promo vids never get a look in. Mercury suck -
get a new record company boys, one that will promote you properly.

Subject: (yello) Yello at AOL
Hi,
AOL is showing a special on Yello today. Direct Access for AOL users is:
<Ctrl-K> "Musik", then click on the yello picture.
There is a page with German text and hyperlinks, an old picture of Boris and
Dieter, black and white standing beside an old movie projector.
I did some screenshots and translated the text and have put this beside my
private homepage onto http://franzgall.tripod.com/yello_on_aol.htm .
Hopefully AOL does not sue me for publishing AOL content...
Please feel free to add any comments using my guestbook (GΣstebuch)!!
Below is the German text. Any Germans are encouraged to translate the text
to English. I do not have the time right now.
Regards
Franz
The text:
Pet Shop Boys, Sonny & Cher, Ike and Tina Turner, Cindy und Bert, Simon &
Motion Picture
Geschichte
=======
Mit "You gotta say yes to another excess" (1983) stellte sich dann auch der
kommerzielle Erfolg ein. "I love you" und "Lost again" waren Erfolgssingles
filmisch-dramaturgischen Umsetzung andererseits, fand jetzt breite
Aufmerksamkeit.
Hierfⁿr hatte man
Shirley Bassey verpflichten k÷nnen.
Flag" ins Ohr.
Mit "Hands on Yello"

Regarding this new www.yellomusic.de site - which is announced on the
"Motion Picture" cover, I just read (dated today) on the Suite 909 news site
(http://www.paper.dk/suite909/) that this domain is not even registered/has
an DNS entry.
Well, actually it does. Below is the information I got from a DNS lookup
tool. Even though the site www.yellomusic.de isn't yet active, it seems
certain that they will go for this domain name eventually. The site
www.yello-music.de has the exact same information and owner. This does
answer but has no content, as of yet.

Subject: (yello) Motion Picture Arrived
Yep. I'm an owner of Motion Picture here at Finland.
I will not review it but I have to correct some points:
Yello has not leaped back to "good, old" Yello music --- it is only
a new style of Yello.
This may sound strange but I hope that there will be no a hit song
from this album: (i) the album is strongly jazzy and people will
be majorly diappointed if they buy the whole album because of a possible
hit song, (ii) even if they buy only the single, such as Squeeze Please,
they get those bad third party remixes.
Anyway, I know I will listen to the album 100+ times within next few weeks
(with my lovely neighbors, of course <grin>). Recommended album for Yello
fans!
Yours,
Juhana

When I first heard them, I was a bit disappointed actually. They have grown
on me a little since then, but they are not up the the standard of Yello
yet, IMHO. Perhaps they will improve with time. I just don't think their
music has the character or personality that Boris and Dieter can generate.
Its a pretty tough comparison though.
