- --On whose authority do you act?--
Please people! Your arguements are why I have been deleting messages to the
list before they are read. Stop quibbiling like children about who can spit
and piss farther. there is new stuff coming out and Goddammit if no one can
help me find it in Seattle (no flames to those who have offered to sell me
theirs or where to order in Europe).
If you're going to argue, how about private email between the warring
factions? What a concept!! Honestly, more than list doesn't interest me but
should the sheer volume of postings warrant it, I will be supportive of it.
Should some of the kiddies take a nap?
I have probably 1/2 of the Yello knowledge of anyone else on this list. I
subscribed to learn more about them and be "taught" the ins and outs of the
Yello listening culture. Sheesh, I never even heard of the ReWatch just a
couple of months ago, but if all that members do is argue, then I will be
"taught" how to argue too.

Flames?? Is this normally way how You call help in US??
I'm really suprised about Your comment (am I understand it right?),
someone are ready to buy extra record and send it to You and take only

I think it's now been established that any "problems" with the "Eccentrix"
content have arisen from the way in which the way the web page appears in
different browsers. The feature the web designers incorporated in this page
simply does not work with IE4 unless it is running in full-screen mode. Thus
this has nothing at all to do with whether one "understands" Yello or not -
rather it is something that the designers employed by Yello should have taken
account of given the number of people who use IE.

Yes. Also, - I used Netscape Communicator on the
Web Page and was ONLY able to view the scrollbar
at the bottom of the page, when I removed the
Navigation bar (at the top) from view.
In addition, since it was myself who originally posted the
question to the list about how the recently updated screens
were to be navigated, - I apologize for any subsequent

Makke, I think he meant to say that his comment was NOT a 'screw-You-all' to
those who had offered him help. He just wants to get the album in Seattle,
without all the mailing hassle.
Still no signs of Eccentrix in Sweden. What the hell are they doing??

This being off-topic, but those of us trying to find the really hard stuff
from our favorite artists may want to speed up our searches. Several large
record labels (Island, Virgin, HMV, Atlantic, et al) have merged and have
announced cutbacks on signed artists by as much as 75% and have forced some
groups to buy back copies of their releases. What a shame as now I get to hear
Hootie and the Blowfish and Celine Dion style performed by 75 different acts,
and not the really relevant, progressive, and stylish beats by groups most of
us never heard of. Don't know if I heard it here first, but has been confirmed
by several on a few other lists.

If I understand correctly, this is quite significant -
does this mean quantity in actual production is cut back?
By 'forcing some groups' do you mean that if a party wishes
a release to stay available, that it's in their own interests
to buy copies while still in production?
I knew the record industry was in a kind of recession, but this
is quite drastic.

Well I haven't seen Eccentrix in any high street stores , but I am
ordering it from The Esprit catalogue thing :P
Perhaps" MVC" Might have it, that is a good UK store, I got
Solid Pleasure, Zebra, Pocket Universe and One Second from there..
And when I asked last week in Gloucester for Eccentrix they said
it would be in within a week...

OK, this is a fairly trivial question, but hopefully someone will be able
to satisfy my curiosity.
On the track listing for Eccentrix Remixes, "She's Got a Gun (live at the
Palladium N.Y.)" is listed as running for 4.08. But on my copy of the
Goldrush maxi-single, on side two, "She's Got a Gun (live at the Palladium
N.Y.)" is listed at 4.20. Can anyone explain the discrepancy? Did Boris do
some "fine-tuning" for the remixes album?

I haven't done any side by side analysis but I seem to hear more of what I'd
call an Arabic sort of overtone weaved into this version.
While I'm at it I should comment that the new release seems to make a pretty
good soundtrack for Southern California, maybe life in general.
That song that has the James Bond/Get Smart feel (Topaz?) was playing in the
car as I waited near a park for my kids. A squirrel was darting about
nervously & seems to move in perfecet accord with the song.
Later, same day, two overweight black women were power-walking past my house
as I sat in the car pounding "More" out. They thumpity thumped on by,
unbeknownst to them, marching to the beat.
That evening, family in tow, I was at a stop light and this guy who appeared
to be a boxer out for a run (hands taped like one) shuffle stepped waiting for
the same light. "How, How" was on & my kids pointed out before I noticed that
he too was in time with the music.
I'm not saying that this riivals the Dark Side of the Moon/ Wizard of Oz
association but...

Fred

Over the weekend I bought the new 'Fat Boy Slim' album. In terms of style,
- - I liken it
to the Prodigy, - but with more emphasis on 'sampling' - and more noticably
it has the 'humour'
which was present in Yello's more earlier music, with the samples not just
'tacked on' to the music.
'Rockerfella Skank' and 'Praise You' have already been released - (I've no
idea how popular
these tracks were in other countries), but it is the other tracks that
utilize samples well, - and unlike the
Prodigy and FSOL et al; - there aren't parts of the album where it can
occasionally, - 'grind' making it
unlistenable. -
Each track has been worked on, and thought about. And, also, the two tracks
mentioned above are so
'vastly' different - that the very diversity of the styles impresses the
listener. This was what impressed me about
Yello.

James

Fast and effective? This site took two minutes to enter and when it was

It may well be that you need the shockwave plug-in, which you can get from
www.macromedia.com and maybe this also explains why it took so long to load.

Subject: (yello) Boris equipment...
Does anyone know what equipment Boris uses to create his songs?
Does he stick to the same equipment each time or.change from Album to
Album... I have heard sounds used in earlier albums that have been
used for more recent recordings..
P.S.
I have a Good Condition Clare Que Si LP , I picked up today at my
local record store for 10 pounds..
If anyone is interested , let me know :)
