Having had some to do with P3 myself I've had this suspicion aswell. So
I checked it and I can say that they never used this sample from Yello.
As far as I was able to check it, it has always been done by P3
themselves. As one said, "Yello was not the only persons to discover
that this was something that was possible to say and record". A little
harsh said maybe, but it turned out that they were a bit tired of
hearing this.

Eric

I was told that it was a sound engineer who likes Yello who suggested
the "Oh yeah"-sound for P3, but my guess is as good as yours as to
whether they used the Yello-sound or made their own, since they are
extremely alike, soundwise.
And, speaking of the Swedish national radio, especially P3, I've been
into that mess myself too and I've never been able to tell what's for
real and what's not in the house, with all the rumours in there...
I guess we'll never know for sure.

There is a saying, that I can't recall off the top of my head (had my head
buried deep in mixed architecture vaxclusters most of the day!) but it goes
something like:
parody is a high form of flattery... or something like. not those words, but I
hope you get the idea.
All I would trust is that Yello get their airplay dues from use of it.
>I think an international email reply to this is called for. Maybe we can each

Why?
In the UK, it's full of radio stations that claim they are the "better music
mix, more music mix", etc. etc., so many liner cards in front of a DJ you'd
think that the people employed by radio stations in the UK are incapable of
having any 'safe' thoughts of their own.
Personally I do not take such stations seriously, and I don't think you should
take this station seriously. Today's radio is "safe wallpaper for the masses"
nothing more, nothing less. You should applaud the station for trying to be
vaguely different and imaginative. Your calls for them to add Yello to their
playlist will fall on deaf ears, they'll stick 5 tunes 15 times a day in strict
rotation with other 'safe' music, and that's your lot. Computerised music
selection for you!
Someone at the station has perhaps seen an opportunity to use the music of
Yello, you should be pleased to hear it in any form at all, particularly on a
mainstream radio station. Just my thoughts.

Anyone have comments on Yello's score for this new movie? Is it new material,
or just another rehash of older tracks?
