Yello clearly changed for Pocket Universe. I've not really noticed any album
of Yello's that was similar to the previous. However, Pocket Universe is the
most different of the batch. It's really quite good. Zebra is still up there
as #2 with Baby as a close third. Pocket is of course my #1 choice right
now.
We'll see what they come up with next... heh.
(Although, I wouldn't mind a few more like "On the Run")

I think Yello was more Yello up to and including "Flag" (1988). "Baby" =
and "Zebra" were both good albums, but at that time Yello's music didn't =
sound quite so original as they used to. "Pocket Universe" sounds more =
original and has some really good songs on it, but it's far from my =
favorite yet (maybe I have to listen to it more?)
The first Yello album I ever listened to was "Solid Pleasure" (1980) at =
the age of 14 (1989)... it's still my favorite Yello-Yello album, =
although I like "Flag" better all over.

Can't wait... :) I just hope they go for original and new sound, and =
not the techno-sort-of-sound - that's what they're good at! For the real =
techno part (and I do NOT mean euro-trash-dance) I find albums like =
Motorbass' "Pansoul" (1996) or Daft Punk's "Homework" (1996) better.
Regards,
Per-Stian

Hoi!
I uploaded 'KMFDM - Unfit' to the ftp-site tonight.
Check out the chorus in particular!
It came from the CD '@#!@$' (free interpretation of the title).
Groeven,
Olaf.

"On the Run" and Others off of "Baby" are Such Very Exciting, Driving,
Jazz-Style Tunes. Yello Exhibited This Also in "Zebra" and "Flag". They Need
to Get Back to Their Fishion\Jazz Style. Love When They Play with the
Horns!!!!! I Have Heard Enough Techno for the Rest of My Life.

At last!
I have now uploaded a brief sample of the "Yello" voice from 'Check 1'
to the "Sample Others" directory on Shane's FTP site.

Subject: (yello) 3 questions.
Hi!
I''ve been off-line for a while, but I'm back(Yeah! :) and I''ve got 3
questions...
1. Are there any Yello fan clubs out there?
2. Have Yello ever been nominated for any awards and/or got them? (NOT! :)
3. What are the statistics on Yello album/single sales?
I only read somewhere that Flag sold about a million copies... ?
Anxiously waiting for the answers,
Yuri Chercasski.
