I agree, it's raw as hell, but the effect is lessened the more people
use it and it begins to sound a little predictable. I'm not questioning
it's effect on the dancefloor, just it's originality. A bit too generic
for me, but as the opening LP track, it's pretty good stuff. I'm not
dissing Genoforce alone, there's plenty of people milking the two step
thing without adding any new elements of their own, and there's plenty
who do it more that Genoforce have here.
Just my opinion.

Great. I spend two months without email, and the first message I get
when I rejoin is this one. :)
For those who joined in the last two months, I'm Mark (as you can
probably guess), and I've just moved to Orange (not Yello[w], but close
enough), a city about four hours west of Sydney, Australia. And before
you ask, they grow apples here.
P.S. I came across a reference to a new remix of Vicious Games in
CDZone. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, so the big question
is... does it really exist? (In my experience they frequently have
non-existent records listed.)

I presume you may have got this idea from the fact that Video Cassettes
produced in this country are recorded using a different system to that
prevalent in the USA and are therefore not compatible.
With CDs however have no fear: I have bought CDs in Europe (East & West),
Thailand, USA etc etc and a CD is a CD and will play on any system, anywhere.
The only thing of course is price.... CDs in your country are much cheaper,
than they are here in the UK, so I would at least try Tower Records on the web
or something (if you live outside a major town), before here, where you'll
find yourself paying the rough equivalent of $20 per CD.

Years ago, there were companies like Autocad who would dare to make two
different versions of their software without guaranteeing their
compatibility.
Thanks to hackers all over the world, we have the cracked stuff as fast as
you do so I can say with some certainty that whatever you are trying to do,
there's no 'nameless border' between us. But, the next time you plug in a
CD, ANY CD, remember some Dutch weirdo from Phillips came up with it. On
hardware, we came first.
There is a substitute for cubic inches.

Heard a track by 'KMFDM' titled 'Unfit' today.
I don't know if it just sounds like Yello (mostly the chorus) by =

Thanks for this I hadn't heard of any KMFDM "product" since the 1996 album:
"Xtort" and your posting got me to investigate their website at www.kmfdm.net
to find out where this track was from. The 1997 album, it appears on (which
I've now ordered !) has symbols for a title (shades of Led Zeppelin !!!), and
it was also on a recent single.
Anyway they're a German band based in the US (for some-time now), the name
means (and I hope I'm not offending anyone's sensibilities here) Kill
MotherFucking Depeche Mode and the mainstay is a guy called Sascha Konietzko.
I would personally say that they have a lot more in common with bands like
Ministry and Front 242, than they do with Yello though and their first album
"What do you know, Deutschland" is still one of their best. One other
distinctive feature is their cover art, which has always been done by a
(British duo... I think): Brute. According to the website a collaboration they
did with My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is still available, which is worth
$6.00 of anybody's money in my book.
Anyway anyone who wants to find out more knows where to go. A very different
artist (who also uses electronics): Momus, is someone else who deserves wider
recognition.

Subject: (yello) Album Ranking
Hi.
These are the final results.
1 Pocket Universe
2 Stella
3 Baby
4 Flag
5 One Second
6 You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess
7 Claro Que Si
7 Zebra
9 Solid Pleasure
The first four votes ranked Claro Que Si as 5, 2, 1, 1, and that was a
bit of a surprise to me because I've never seen any list with Claro Que
Si ranked so High. But the it started to receive a lot of 7 , 8 and 9.
The albums that got the most no 1 rankings was PU, Stella and Claro Que
Si.
The only albums that didn't get a no 1 ranking was Zebra and Solid
Pleasure. The highest ranking they got was no 2.
The albums that got ranked as no 9 was Zebra, Claro Que Si, Solid
Pleasure, Stella and You Gotta....
All albums received a ranking as low as 7 or lower.
It was quite close from Flag to Zebra and with a few more votes, the
list could have looked quite different.
In conclusion one can say that when looking at the individual
rankinglists, this ranking shows that Yello fans tend to rank Solid
Pleasure as lowest. The rest of the albums are quite close.
Now I'm taking my fever back to bed to cough myself to sleep.

Sorry Andrew, but that Depeche Mode was only a joke from the band's
side. Actually KMFDM means somethin like Kein Mitlied Fⁿr Die MajoritΣt
(I'm not sure of the exact words), which means something like No Pity
For The Majority.
End of today's correction (I hope).
