To make things even more interesting, I've dealt with him before and had
no problems at all. I am being cautious as I have jumped the gun before
and the person had a legit reason - his email was being screened by the
firewall I'm behind.
As for ebay, he offerred his ebay rating as references. I'm still not
sure about using it though.
It was a Voyager Orange IS2 card - in case you are wondering.
Interesting point...if one uses your Ebay rating for a non-Ebay transaction
then shouldn't we add our comments to it? I

I just talked to Dave and all is well. He is sending out my card today,
overnight. He was very apologetic. I'm glad I kept my cool as he is a fellow

Anyway, thanks for the input.
I think I needed to vent my frustrations and I chose this forum.

Hehehe, I wonder how many people collect star trek cards on the planet?
10-20,000 maybe? How many of those people are on the net and know where
to find star trek cards? Maybe 1000 people?

Sooo...according to that...each of those 1000 people needs to gimmie $90,000
so I can make my site NUMBER ONE..come on....we can do it....:)

Shoot, I don't even spend $10 a year advertising...! Where does that leave

I had heard Rittenhouse was going to do TV ads for their cards..I gotta see

> I just talked to Dave and all is well. He is sending out my card today,

Cliff, I'm glad you've solved your problem, but the issue which you raise
is similar to me. I've suffered a similar fate but have not
mentioned it until now. First of all let me give you the background, and
I'll make it the short version:
* I sell a TOS3 McCoy on eBay for about $350.
* The buyer sends me the check and I send him the card.
* The check bounces.
* I ask him for either another check or the card back.
* He says he's sold the card on and is suffering from a problem at work
and is low on cash, so can I please wait.
* Eventually a recorded delivery envelope arrives but it's empty.
* He says someone has intercepted his mail and cashed the other check and
that consequently both he and me are out of pocket.
* He is now promising to sort this out ASAP but needs to get info from the
bank first to find out who did cash this recent check.
Now you might be wondering why I'm so naive not to realise he's ripping me
off. The real answer is that the seller
xf_x_perts@tymewyse.com
has an excellent eBay feedback rating, at least the last time I checked.
So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. The other problem is that being
in another country there's not a great deal I can do. I'd rather get this
sorted out amicably, but it really has been going on for months.
Has anyone here dealt with this person before, and if so what's the
verdict?
From what I've said, do you think he is ripping me off deliberately and if
so, what should I do?
Thanks, Arif.

Why not float your auctionne on the stock exchange and make a few million
dollars? Do it now before the Internet stock bubble burts!

Arif,
I have not dealt with that person directly, so I can't help there.
If someone was doing that to me, I'd suspect them of trying to rip me off. It
would be fairly easy to get a copy of the cancelled check and prove that is what
happened.
What I ended up doing was calling. I got his phone number from ebay User
Information request and called him. He had been ignoring my emails but when I
got him on the phone and talked to him, it worked out. You can kind of get a
sense from talking to a person whether or not they are being honest. You could
also try to set a specific date when he would have some information for you.
That way you have some leverage - other than just letting it ride until he gets
the time.
Even when you are in the same country, it is not easy.
Good luck,
Cliff

Well, I did it....I listed all the foil cards I pulled on my Auctionne site.
I have decided NOT to collect foils from sets or the upcoming Reflections.
It's feels weird..the obsessive girl herself backing away, but I am!
I suppose I could *afford* them, so to speak, but I don't want to. I don't
like them and don't want there to be any more and this is all I can do. They
just aren't that cool....

Well, the annulment takes care of the "after," but what about your current
