  13. no problems at all. I am being cautious as I have jumped the gun before
  14. and the person had a legit reason - his email was being screened by the
  15. firewall I'm behind.

  17. As for ebay, he offerred his ebay rating as references. I'm still not
  18. sure about using it though.

  272. Cliff, I'm glad you've solved your problem, but the issue which you raise 
  273. is similar to me.  I've suffered a similar fate but have not 
  274. mentioned it until now.  First of all let me give you the background, and 
  275. I'll make it the short version:

  277. * I sell a TOS3 McCoy on eBay for about $350.
  278. * The buyer sends me the check and I send him the card.
  279. * The check bounces.
  280. * I ask him for either another check or the card back.
  281. * He says he's sold the card on and is suffering from a problem at work 
  282. and is low on cash, so can I please wait.
  283. * Eventually a recorded delivery envelope arrives but it's empty.
  284. * He says someone has intercepted his mail and cashed the other check and 
  285. that consequently both he and me are out of pocket.
  286. * He is now promising to sort this out ASAP but needs to get info from the 
  287. bank first to find out who did cash this recent check.
  288.  
  289. Now you might be wondering why I'm so naive not to realise he's ripping me 
  290. off.  The real answer is that the seller

  373. If someone was doing that to me, I'd suspect them of trying to rip me off. It
  374. would be fairly easy to get a copy of the cancelled check and prove that is what
  375. happened.

  377. What I ended up doing was calling. I got his phone number from ebay User
  378. Information request and called him. He had been ignoring my emails but when I
  379. got him on the phone and talked to him, it worked out. You can kind of get a
  380. sense from talking to a person whether or not they are being honest. You could
  381. also try to set a specific date when he would have some information for you.
  382. That way you have some leverage - other than just letting it ride until he gets
  383. the time.

  385. Even when you are in the same country, it is not easy.

  506. Well, I did it....I listed all the foil cards I pulled on my Auctionne site.
  507. I have decided NOT to collect foils from sets or the upcoming Reflections.
  508. It's feels weird..the obsessive girl herself backing away, but I am!
