This is the part I find unfathomable. I know, I know, you and a TON of
other people have all told me how magnificent he was in the pre-Katherine
days, but since that was during my GH-hiatus, I never saw any of it and I
can't even begin to imagine it.
The first thing I saw from him was when he shot Kat.
He aimed too low.
The only Laura-obsessing I've seen at all is very recently, and it hasn't
been enough to do much more than pique my interest. It gets me to stop
fast-forwarding for a few minutes, at least. Until Kat comes in the room,
anyway.

Subject: GH/PC: Request for fanfic reader....
Hi all-
I wrote a really short fanfic, my first ever wahoo! What I am
wondering is if someone would be willing to read it and tell me if they
hate it or like it or I should burn my computer disk etc. :) Or maybe
even do someone really radical like post it to the list :) In any case,
if anyone would be willing, please e-mail me and I will send it to you.
Like I said it's real short, only a page and half ss, but it's something
I have been thinking about all week. Thanks!
Rebecca

It seems like I am not on the same page with this as everyone else. I guess
we will have to wait and see who the culprit ends up being, but I, for one,
have had Mr. Murty as the number one suspect the entire time. If they do
make it him, it just seems like another predictable turn for me.
It was unthinkable to me from the start that they would make it be Tony, no
matter what else they do to his character, I can't see them making him a
rapist of a teenager-- Audrey's grandchild, no less.
I never thought too much in depth aboutthe implications of having the teacher
be the rapist. I guess that is a scary concept. Mr. Murty has always been a
peripheral character. We know him as the teacher, the "cool one," but we
never knew him well. He is also expendable, there is not much of an emotional
investment in him. If you run through the characters on the show, there
really isn't anyone else, UNLESS they made it someone she didn't know. I
guess maybe one of Jason's bodyguards, someone like that, but Mr. Murty was
already connected with the kids' story.
I think they will want to give the story some closure, and have the rapist
caught. It would seem to me as much of a gyp to have it be some stranger
we've never seen, as it was to make Dorman's killer that Tin Man guy. How can
you figure out a mystery on a show when they throw in the guilty party at the
end?
I noticed a few days after the rape when Liz was in Kelly's with Lucky, Mr.
Murty was there. He kind of smiled at her. She was freaked out in general at
being out among people. Later she said something to Lucky about "what if the
guy who did this was right there in Kelly's" and "he could be anyone-- even
someone I know."
So I don't think this is a hasty rewrite, or change of plan. I think they
meant it to be the teacher all along.

In a message dated 98-04-13 15:49:57 EDT, you write:
<< I've never crossed a picket line in my life. I'm not about to start now."
I LOVED it when he showed up at the mansion with frozen TV dinners. And
his comment about some some people thinking that the Q's couldn't survive
without the staff was adorable -- not to mention right on the money.>>
I have always adored Reggie myself, and loved seeing him in his everyday
clothes, going out to join the picketers. I also love the relationship
between Reginald and Lila. I liked to see her sticking up for him, and so
proud of his position with the strikers, even though it was throwing her house
into chaos.
>>The coffee maker part, though, was a bit much. That was one of those
moments that I couldn't h*lp but cringe at. As I was watching that scene I
kept thinking of Logan's comments about how he hates what's being done to
the Q's and during that scene I couldn't argue.<<
Yeah that was horrible. We've been getting more of the same all week. While
some of it is funny, he's made the Q's into a pack of bumbling idiots. He is
really tearing them to shreds. I find it hard to believe that Monica, AJ, or
any of them just haven't a clue about the coffee pot, the toaster, a
microwave. It's a wonder Guza's version of the Q's are able to dress
themselves.
I think it would have been more fun to get a replacement staff of scabs and
see how the Q's deal with them. Maybe a different butler everytime we see
them, as they drive them all away. Or a sweet cook who will cater to their
every whim-- but drive them crazy with too much sweetness, and have them
begging for Cook back. How about a few scenes of Reggie slipping in to see
how Lila is making out.
That would be better, but it is difficult to imagine that the Q's could not
find a way to to keep the strikers at bay, keep garbage from being dumped on
the lawn, and to get some kind of help in the house. Barring that, at least a
few of them ought to have enough sense working basic appliances.
