Yeah, and to tell you the truth, that really irritates me. I seriously
hope it wasn't him. Aside from the fact that he was the absolute ONLY
thing I liked about the whole PC High storyline, I think it's a cop out,
frankly. I think that it's much more compelling a storyline if Liz doesn't
know her attacker. Let them find him, sure, but I don't want it to be
someone she knows.
There are very different sets of emotional issues that have to be dealt
with when the situation is acquantance rape versus some scumbag dragging an
anonymous girl off a park bench. And I think that it's just far too
contrived for them to make it be someone that she knew at this point. I
think the anonymous version is much stronger with how this storyline has
been set up and I really hope they continue to go that direction.
I'm afraid they probably won't, though.

Actually, I can't believe that they hadn't put into play who the rapist
could be, long before this. It freaked me out big time on Friday when he
came on thru. Didn't Lucky look a little concerned as well. Almost like

Subject: GH/PC: 35th anniversary promo ?
i have a question regarding one of the gh 35th anniversary promos. i
just caught it fleetingly one day last week, so i don't know whether i
saw what i thought i saw or not...
it's the one that focuses on various couples over the years. it starts
with steve and audrey, and then does still photos of various couples
(luke and laura, felicia and frisco, etc.) with dates under the picture.
i could SWEAR that the last photo in the promo was one of ned and lois,
labeled 1998. did i dream that or what??? does anyone who remembers
that promo remember seeing that, or know what it ACTUALLY was? or...if
i DID see that...does that mean lois is coming BACK?!? (fingers
crossed...)
help me out here, guys...i think i'm losing my mind!

Well, Guza said from the beginning that the "whodunnit" aspect of this was
the least important. I think if they make Mr. Murdy the rapist then they
change that.

No kidding. <shudder>
But, even beyond that, the way the attack happened, it's really unlikely
that it was anyone she knows. It just feels really forced to go back now
and try to rewrite it as someone she knows.

But yes, it was Ned and Lois.
On another "anniversary" note... Upon reflection, I am almost positive I
saw some interviews in advertisements for the prime time show that didn't
make it into the program itself. Presumably that was because of time
limitations, but the real question is--am I simply losing my mind? In
particular, I vaguely recall a segment with the actresses who play Robin
and Anna....

You know, Taiyin, I'm really glad you said that. It's been bugging me
since I read Danielle's post this morning. While I don't think it beyond
the realm of possibility that her attacker *is* someone she knows, I'll be
disappointed if it does turn out to be the teacher. First of all, I don't
like the notion of the teacher being the obvious scapegoat--it's cliche and
disturbing, and a cheap way of playing on parents' fears that anyone could
take advantage of their child. Second, I think the notion that Liz may
never find out the identity of her attacker is more true to life, and, to
take the discussion back to the realm of soaps <g>, has better dramatic
potential.
On the other hand, I'm willing to cut Guza some slack and hope that he's
just playing on the fact that Liz is going to suspect *everybody* for a
long time, until she manages to return to some semblance of a normal life.
I really hope that's the way this development plays out.

They should have ended it with Kevin & Lucy.
My own obvious bias aside, they are currently the only totally happy,
serious, content, marriage-bound couple on either show. And they've
certainly been around enough, and together long enough to warrant it.
Geez, the only other couples I can even THINK of are Alan and Monica (who
wouldn't be put in there with this year's date, anyway), Joe & Karen (who
haven't been together long enough to be THAT serious), and Kat & Bat (and
you all KNOW my feeling about them).
So they should just ad K&L to the end of that promo -- after all, they are
still technically on GH, too.
Oops, I almost forgot, they don't DO promos of Kevin and Lucy.
Bah.

Wow, did I stir something up today. This is such a DEEP conversation
going on, but everybody is on the same page. It's scary to think that
this can happen w/a teacher, but the Soaps don't throw a character into

Yeah, & this is Soaps! But I can see where finding out that the teacher
(maybe) is the rapist could lead to so many more situations. Remember,
that was the guy who cut her some slack about stealing the test. You
could see how he could use that against her. And imagine Lucky finding
out it was him. Geesh!!! I could see him go a lil' whacky...ala Luke! I

his comment about some some people thinking that the Q's couldn't survive

And his comments about his father being a Union man were very cool. I love
Reg. I wish he were around more.
The coffee maker part, though, was a bit much. That was one of those
moments that I couldn't h*lp but cringe at. As I was watching that scene I
kept thinking of Logan's comments about how he hates what's being done to
the Q's and during that scene I couldn't argue.

True. I'm hoping, though <knock on wood>, that Cagey is right: they are
trying to show that Lizzie is still so freaked out by the whole thing that
she suspects just about everyone.
I also agree with Cagey, that I think laying it on Murdy is a very cheap
trick -- not to mention horribly cliched.
>(maybe) is the rapist could lead to so many more situations. Remember,
>that was the guy who cut her some slack about stealing the test. You
>could see how he could use that against her.
And that is what's nagging at me about this.
And it's also the biggest reason that I hope they don't do it. They showed
a really cool teacher, who related to his students, tried to h*lp them out,
cut them some slack and didn't play the "heavy-handed parent" role with
them. He was the kind of teacher that kids hope they get. I have a
problem with them turning around and basically saying, "Oh, no, the only
reason he was so nice and understanding to his students, especially Lizzie,
is because he wanted to rape her." Pfft!
I think that's a deplorable message on one level, and I think it's cheap,
two-dimensional drama on another level. I think the whole thing would be
so much more complex and interesting for the characters if Lizzie had to
come to grips with the fact that she might never find the guy who did it,
or if she could never understand why some stranger would grab her out of
nowhere like that -- without knowing her.
>And imagine Lucky finding
>out it was him. Geesh!!! I could see him go a lil' whacky...ala Luke! I
Well, I think that is pretty likely no matter WHO they end up pinning it
on. Lucky will probably go postal no matter what.
I also think that they brushed over something rather conveniently when
Lucky and Liz were talking: they pointed out that 80% of all rape victims
who come forward know their attackers. What they neglected to point out is
that most of that 80% are "date rape" scenarios, and the remainder are
generally people like caretakers or building maintenance crew members who
are obsessed with someone they see all the time.
And part of the reason that those women come forward is BECAUSE they
recognize their attacker.
Now, aside from the fact that, technically, Mr. Murdy could qualify under
the "obsessed" category... that's just so contrived. Especially since Mr.
Murdy was about the only adult that Lizzie actually liked.

That's where I think it all lies. That's where the drama would really
be. Tayin, you hit on a lot of stuff about this today. Kinda makes you
wonder 'bout people. There's gotta be a time when Lizzie just flips out.
Funny about Lucky going postal (great word). I can see him in jail for

Just read in SOD that Edward Albert is leaving PC and that Devlin's exit
will be very "shocking"...so what do y'all think it'll be:
A) Arrested for stealing credit for Karen, Jake, and Joe's experiments (or
maybe in connection with Eve's case)? And let's not forget testing drugs on
Frank, after all, Lark DID see him do it.
or....
B) Murdered...after all, there have been a few hints dropped, like Scott's
threat today (Monday). Perhaps he's murdered and Scott is the suspect...but
who'll it REALLY be...Lark? Joe? Julie (maybe she finds out what he did to
Frank)?
I mean, the only other thing I can come up with that would be shocking is if
Devlin came out of the closet, decided to become a transvestite and went on the
run with Lark and her ratty wig. LOL!
But seriously, I'm going to miss Edward Albert...what a babe!! Guess I better
get that fan letter sent off to him soon...

cool. And can you imagine when he "bumps" into Sonny someday soon. Phew,

Also, I loved the fact Jason gave ol' Carly the brush off. Thank the

just annoys me in any romantic situation, after the time w/Sarah at the
Cassadine summer house. Eek! I did think the scene w/Brenda, Nikolas &
Robin was funny though.
I must also admit, yet again I was shocked that Jax took part in the
assassination plot. Does anyone like this Jerry fella...at all? He gives
me the willies! I'm sure he's gonna come between Jax & Brenda,
but...<shudder>!!! And this fella is an english actor, but he has a much
heavier Australian accent that I can hardly make out what he's saying.
Is this another Mac accent, that hopefully will disappear in months???

I thought that was handled very well on both Jason's and Carly's

I don't really for it either, it reminds me to much of Nik mooning
after Kat. At least with Sarah the feelings were returned and he
didn't look like an infatuated school boy.

I am still trying to talk myself into giving him a chance. But I
couldn't help being amused during the fighting scenes yesterday.
Also, I could not believe that Jax told Jerry to stop him if it
looked like he was starting to fall for Brenda. I almost started
throwing things at the TV...not because I am a devout J&B fan (i am
still undecided) but because Jax is just asking for trouble. I
really don't want to see Jerry trying to charm Brenda either. What

threat today (Monday). Perhaps he's murdered and Scott is the suspect...but
who'll it REALLY be...Lark? Joe? Julie (maybe she finds out what he did to
Frank)?>>
I kind of got that impression today (Tuesday), and I hadn't even read this
post yet. I have a feeling with Frank's new personality, he may just flip out
and kill the bastard himself. It shall be interesting to see. It's actually
one storyline that I am really looking forward to (besides Scott and Eve, of
course).
<< I mean, the only other thing I can come up with that would be shocking is
if
Devlin came out of the closet, decided to become a transvestite and went on
the
run with Lark and her ratty wig. LOL!>>
Now that's the best scenario yet. We know Bennett likes dressing up and
having sex with young women, i.e. his sex tape with Eve. :)

How funny was the scene when Edward put the TV dinner in the microwave?
Ka-boom....well, that one's done. It looked like Leslie was trying not
to crack up. And what's the deal w/everyone in that house, no one
notices Alan whacked out. He looks like Frankenstein walking around. And
Monica's a doctor, too. Well, shouldn't be surprised, they didn't notice
Emily was flying until she really tried to "fly".
Also, what do y'all think Lucky's really up to w/Helena? There's
something just not right there. And do you think Helena knows the "bug"
is planted under the table. She's a wee bit too clever & after all, Luke
was in her bed. Hmm, just wondrin'

ok, is anybody out there. Didn't hear a peep from y'all yesterday!
Anyway, I must admit that I liked that little "dinner" w/Ned & V? Hmm,
does Alexis have competition. Also, let's have a show of hands, who
believes that Jerry's gonna be setup w/Bobbi. Did ya ever notice that
when new characters come on, the 1st few people they come in contact
w/they're usually hooked up not too long down the road. The initial
reaction to Jerry, yuck, didn't like him at all, but after yesterday, he
was quite amusing, especially w/Brenda...Oh, please, don't mess w/Brenda
& Jax (yeah, right!) Anyway, Jerry reminds me of why I like Jax when he
1st came on. Jerry's exactly how Jax was! Finally, I think we're going
to see the other side of Jax, & hopefully bring back the romantic side!
Can't wait!
I can't believe how Tony Geary is throwing out these stellar
performances! How bout when he opened the pix of Helena! Momma
Mia...Mother of Pearl! I was cracking up, now I know why I love him! (by
the way, when I met him a few years back, I was literally...STAR STRUCK!
Now I remember why!!!) And don'tcha all think it's a matter of time til
Laura comes back!!!! I'm keeping the fingers crossed!

I think definately B except I wonder if it will be Frank who
kills him. He could get off murder rap because of the aggression and
violent tendancies the serum causes. Oh and remember Bennett told
Chris that one of the lab rats had killed his cage partner! Of course
the interns will come up with a formula to counteract the aggressive
nature of the serum Bennett used.

Good for retching.
I admit I fast forward through all of Kat and Bat's scenes, so it's
entirely possible that they've already discussed this. But...Katherine and
Stefan are planning a wedding? Yuck. That was *not* the wedding I hoped
to see during sweeps.
Grrrrrr.

Eeeeewwwwww! Yuck.
Four years. Over four years. FOUR. That is how long Kevin & Lucy fans
have been waiting. Four WHOLE ENTIRE years.
And Kat & Bat get it in a year.
Hmph.
And people wonder why I don't trust/can't stand TPTB.
Grump.

On the positive (well, for me, at any rate. It's obvious I'm not speaking
for those people who like Katherine and Stefan together) side, I wonder
whether the wedding will go through. Wouldn't the week of Stefan's
marriage to Katherine be the perfect time for Laura to return to PC? <veg>

Too true. What a delightful thought, actually.
I can just picture all of Port Charles gathered at the wedding, and just as
Stefan is about to say "I do" the rusting of the guests gets his attention
and he turns to see Laura arrive with Lulu in her arms -- leaving Stefan
dumb-struck and totally incapable of continuing with the ceremony.
Any variation on that scenario would be perfectly acceptable, too, of course.
Naturally, there would have to be some more dramatic reason surface for
Stephan to use as an excuse, since he's not going to admit that he loves
Laura instead of Katherine.
I can hope, anyway.

Oh, ew. Ick. Ptui. Ack. Gag. Barf. Hurl. Ralph.
If I can't even stand to watch them standing in the same room together,
how in the name of Elvis am I going to be able to bear a wedding?
And-- as much as I long for Laura to return-- I'd really rather she didn't
return at the behest of Stefan or Nik. Let the woman return under her own
steam, please. Grrrr.
I feel sick. Mebbe I don't want to eat my lunch.
Nah. Stefan and Kat aren't worth missing good Chinese food for. ;)
